VIN report states SR5 when dealer and seller say it's a TRD OR???

Question: I'm looking at used Tacomas and in 2 cases, when I did the VIN report the vehicles were coming up as SR5s when the dealer - or the seller - said it was an OR. With the dealer, I think they just don't know what they have bc they're a Suburu dealership, but with the seller, he's saying it's an OR. I wondered if the free reports were bogus so I paid for a CARFAX for the one at the dealership because I couldn't believe that someone would shell out all the $$ extras on an SR5 instead of an OR, and CARFAX says "2019 TOYOTA TACOMA DBL CAB SR5/TRD." So now I'm just wondering if people are selling SR5s as ORs. The one at the dealer doesn't say SR5 or TRD OR. Is there any way to tell from looking at the dash? Does only the OR have locking Diff?

This is the truck in question below. Also, I was hoping to get an OR but if I get an SR5 and do a lift/upgrade the suspension & wheels is that just as good? Or better?Same size engine, etc?

Too many to list. I’m lazy
This is just how they’re listed. I have a sport but my insurance card reads SR5/TRD. Just a blanket classification.

OR will have crawl control up above the mirror

no locker and crawl control on the newer ones will make it pretty clear. If it has them its just a bad look up. the old 2nd gens used to come up as Pros when they were off road models.

This, people have this weird perception of TRD models, its just a trim level.

Back in the “good ole days”, SR5 was the top tier trim level for Toyota pickups.

I've had a few, corolla SR5, 4runner SR5. Both had crank windows haha. The SR5 thing was actually more confusing back then.

I just want to make sure that if I'm paying for an OR that I'm getting an OR and not an SR5 - or, rather, that I'm getting the OR package...? It would be a remote purchase.

Have them send you a picture of the crawl control, then you will know its definitely an OR.

Not all Off Roads have Crawl Control but the Rear Locker would be a confirmation

to clarify, all automatic Off-roads have crawl control, only manuals off roads lack crawl control. All off-road models (and Pro’s) have a rear locker.

Those are the two hardest parts to fake, because a lot of people with Sports, SR5s, and SRs often ad parts from the upper trim levels.

A 2WD Automatic Off Road will not have Crawl Control either.

Crawl Control means Off-Road, but Off-Road does not mean Crawl Control.

Only 4WD A/T TRD OR models have Crawl Control, M/T and 2WD A/T do not.
