Just testing the waters here to see how other forum members feel... does anyone else wish there was a vinyl floor available for these trucks? Similar to the FJ Cruiser or any "work" grade full-size truck.

I love how I can wipe down most of my TRD OR with a cloth and be done with it, but the black carpet is a pain to keep clean. I know the easiest solution is WeatherTech floor mats, but it would be nice to not have to worry about the transmission tunnel or underneath the seat.

I wonder how many people we would need to get an aftermarket company to produce one. Thoughts?

I would order definitely. I hate carpet in a house, why would I want carpet in a vehicle where my dirty shoes track dirt and such.

You could always go the Jeep route..

Being that you rip all the carpet out paint the floor with truck bed coating.

I looked into that, but the Tacoma has wires and air ducts running under the carpet so it would look like crap when finished.

I'm surprised the SR trim don't come with vinyl floors. Most base model work trucks come with them or at least have a option for them. Super easy to clean and you don't have to worry about messing up the carpet.

Did this on my jeep. It sucked. The road noise was terrible, and the heat transfer made it really suck on a trail in 4 low in the middle of summer.

There is a lot of sound deadening and heat resistance properties in those carpets.

That was going to be my guess in having a dramatic increase in road noise.

I’m searching through the threads now...I thought someone did the install and had to change a few things but it could have been across 2nd gen years like a 2015 floor in a 2009.

Searched a bit and it must have been across the 2nd gen span.

Although now I am wondering if I can get it stuffed into my 3rd gen...how different is the floor pan and layout?

Someone that has soundproofed both gens would have some good insight.

There's like seven people who would love vinyl floors. The other 249,993 who will buy a Tacoma prefer carpet.
I would think it would take 500 or so committed customers to get a vinyl floor pad with insulation underneath made.
I understand why a few guys want it though.

Back when I first started driving most floors were vinyl and everyone wanted carpet...

I'd take vinyl over carpet any day! I'm sure there's a lot of people in the snow belt areas that would also agree. Our fj is great for this reason.

I don't get how the Tacoma is seen as such a offroad and overlanding truck yet has carpet floors? No floor mat is that good...
We see people spending all kinds of money on silly upgrades for taco's but can't get a vinyl floor.... I would easily drop a grand to get rid of the carpet in my truck.
