1997 Tacoma Regular Cab

Has the gray vinyl headliner and single dome light. Can the later carpeted headliner with the better map lights be installed in these trucks? Would like to fab up an overhead console.

Any tips on vinyl removal? Doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there about the vinyl headliner setup.
