Vinyl on Door Pillar

In BC, a lot of the forest service roads get grown over very quickly with Alder saplings as well as branches from coniferous trees at the side of the road. These produce the famous “BC Pinstripes” (other variations exist I’m sure in Washington State etc.). The smaller, softer branches will mostly slide along smooth paint, but love to mark the hell out of the matte black vinyl.

 

I never really noticed the vinyl between the window...but now that I see some posts with it removed, I think it really makes the 3rd gen standout. It is a small stylistic piece, but I think it really looks good.

 

I pulled mine because I like the classic truck look. I think the vinyl looks better on a sports coupe.

They don’t come on black trucks

 

At first the did when i looked at a black 16, then in 17 i resumed looking and they were gone. Then when i picked up my 18, i found a silver with missing passenger side vinyl .... lol

Curious if anybody has replaced their door vinyl? Wondering whats involved with removing the window sill trim. I had an interesting idea but not sure if I want to follow through on it.
