How many of you have vinyl wrapped your roof if using a roof rack? Been thinking of wrapping my roof to help protect the paint once I decide to get a roof rack, since it’ll be harder to clean the roof with.

saw this pop up on my 'vinyl wrapped roof tacoma' search. I'm thinking of doing this without a roof rack just because my roof already looks like crap on my 2011. Do it!

If you have the proper tools, you can do it yourself at home and it'll turn out decent

I had no problem wrapping my roof, but I have done several hoods and have the technique mastered now...

This looks awesome! Do you ever have dripping of water down the back windows? Drives me insane on mine because I have a ceramic coating on mine and if I park it outside overnight the condensation pool on the roof since it’s hydrophobic and it runs down the back windows....

I've thought of this - but in CA, I would likely avoid black due to heat. Those of you with black wrap; Have you noticed any increase in heat in the cab?

This means I have to find a suitable light color...

On the hoods do the edges curl with time? Want to do the hood scoop on the wife’s T4R and cut the sun glare.

Mine was in NV and I didn't notice any ill effects though lighter would be better.

Not sure about the wrap. My hood was a decal and I never had an issue. The roof was good 3M wrap. Never had an issue with either.

looks good. question; did you wrap the whole back section? like the roof center section just kind of runs down to the window and down the side pillars. just curious how you continued it towards the back

I wrapped the roof on the wifes Rav4 and its not bad; i also have done a few over the years and I highly suggest buying a good quality vinyl as well.

Interesting, you don't see this anymore except for classics. But then again, the Tacoma is the classic icon fitted for this

Yes, from the windshield to the top of the rear glass and everything between the rubber roof channel. I did not do the rear pillars outside of the rubber seal where it meets to rear window. If you want to be fancy you can pull the headliner and pull the satellite antenna then reinstall when you are done but they went around mine with a small seam and you could not really tell.

I did mine because of all the 2nd gens I would see with the paint missing on the roof. I can't believe more people do not do this. For me it was a simple investment to help with resale in the future.
