Totally no worries on my end. I'm finding it quite entertaining too.

Yeah, I just buy it and install it. Half the time she doesn’t notice. When she does, I tell her that I sold the part I replaced and that paid for most of it(which is true).

Marriage, like war, is much more work and much less romance than in the movies :)

I have a friend who I kayak with. His strategy was to buy new kayaks (current fleet of 6) that were the same color as the old one he sold off. The number of boats stay the same as does the colors. He says she was suspicious but not sure.

I have a simple saying, sex is the mortar that keeps the bricks of marriage together. My friends that are the most unhappy have sexless marriages and controlling wifes.

Married for 26 years and the wife never said no to anything until I mentioned getting a new motorcycle. Had one when we married but sold it soon after. Found a way around that though. Son bought it, but it stays at my house. Gotta ride it regularly so things don't go bad. There's always a work around.

My wife actually had no problem with me getting a bike. We have rented one in Hawaii and she enjoyed it.

What is crazy to me is the amount of guys lying to their wives or not telling them. At least OP is honest and respectful to his wife. You all say “I do why I want, etc” and that “wife should t complain about my purchases etc”. Those seem like the crappy marriages. Not they guy who’s wife says I’d prefer you not to spend that kind of money on wheels and he respects that and doesn’t. That sounds like the winning couple to me.

Two of her brothers were in bad wrecks, one their fault, one not, so she just didn't want me on one. When my son got old enough to buy his, we arranged to have it here at the house, since he is deploying soon anyway. I asked her which she liked better, me riding or him riding.

Anyway, there's always a way around the wife. The fun is finding the way.

I never hide stuff from my wife. Absolutely no need and its not worth it. My wife never objects to things I want to buy. But as I said, she's the one that handles the finances so if she says it's not a good time, then it can wait.

Patience is a virtue ... and necessary. Every time my wife asks what I’m looking at on my iPad I show her the wheels and lift kits some of the members have installed. Works for firearms also.

The rims look good with the vinyl, you can always upgrade to different rims/ tires later.

    Nice write up also.

Just a suggestion - once all the marriage advice hubbub dies down, maybe change the title of the thread to make it easier for anyone searching for the TRD rims vinyl wrap information.

    Cheers

I was just about to mention firearms! My wife doesn’t notice when I buy a new gun because I bring them in through the garage or basement door and store them in the safe, which she doesn’t have the combination to.
The problem is I am just about out of space in my safe! Think she would notice a bigger safe?

Yeah. I was planning to but people seem to be enjoying themselves so haven't yet. People reading this later will probably be scratching their heads wondering why all the marriage talk. LOL

My wife actually was hip to the safe ... just not where I wanted to locate it. We moved it several times thru the house and the last move was final... fastened to the concrete LOL
