Vinyl Wrapped hood scoop

As a new member, lesson learned lol. I thought about swapping out to the Pro Grille, but am hesitant due to the sensor issues. I really love the look of it though, although the 2020 TRD Sport/OFF Road grille has grown on me too.

 

I like the 'red', not the red/black so much.
Think it may look better all red, scoop and surround.

 

Just curious.. you’re not the only one running D ring isolators on D rings that don’t contact anything, so the isolator serves no purpose.

Did they come with the D rings or something? Either I’m missing something or everybody else is.

 

Yeah, they came with the D Rings.

Look at a wrapping in the color of frost, its kind of clear looking. I had a company add these to the lower panels on my silver mustang a few years back. They looked like ghost stripes or kind of like a shadow if that makes sense. I tried a piece on the scoop and it looked good, however it was a rather thin piece and is hard to work. Good luck.

 

That sounds pretty cool. Is it like a translucent blue/white color? I originally went with red and black because my business's color scheme is red and black, but the red on the vinyl wrap is just way too vibrant. Thought about wrapping the scoop in carbon fiber wrap too. My next project is gonna be to plasti dip all the gun metal trim in the cabin.

 

It works differently on different colors, but it was a fluke when it was tried on silver. It looks like a shadow, you see it at one angle and don't see it at different angles, plus it was on the lower sides of the car. I removed them a few years back.

 

I like it. Good contrast against the body color.

 

At some point you are going to have to stop caring about what other people think. Its your truck. Plant your flag and hold your ground.

Yeah, I took off the air dam and then removed the skid plate and painted it with some rustoleum.

 

Awesome, i have to do an oil change this weekend anyways, so maybe i'll add that to my project list

 

Awesome! Post some pics when you're done. I just did one coat of primer and then two coats of "brake caliper red" rustoleum. I might paint it and the D Rings another color down the road. The good thing about silver sky is that it goes well with just about any color.
