BTW I have driven through the car wash many times since I got the wrap and never had a problem. Further the GMC was done in 2012 and goes through the car wash all the time without problem. I use a touch less car wash and thh graphics installers did tell me not to wash it for a week and to leave it out in the sun. Guess that helps the adhesive bond to the clear coat initially.

Reviving this thread Had my first third gen done in matte od green it looked sick with the tan softopper. Rolled the truck three times and totaled it out about a month after I did the wrap. The vinyl held up surprisingly well.

Don’t want to jack the thread but how did you mount your lights in the grill? I want that look and can’t seem to find any mounts

To get the thread back on the rails… I spent 2000$ on my wrap I love it. It’s 3 years old held up to all kinds of sand mud brush scratches. I’m surprised how durable the stuff is.FFD63CC6-8A89-4A1B-A959-503773791364.jpg 95DDE615-FAE6-4200-8A16-3880F948DE2B.jpg A0A94D24-EC45-4C7D-8A96-2F2086F2105F.jpg

    Enough for now
holy shit man, your truck took the damage surprisingly well. Looks like the roof rack helps mitigate damage. I see the airbag but overall not too bad for a triple roll over. What’s the story of you don’t mind me asking?

I am surprised that you spent any of your own money when you have all those sponsors that you advertise with it. Just saying

Well I built the truck for me. I didn’t ask for help. I just wanted a Ivan tribute truck. And I own 3 corporations. So pockets aren’t empty bro. Chump change. After the truck was built ! Everyone wanted to borrow it and trade for free stuff… So now your right. I don’t pay for wheels, tires, brakes or any Toyota service work. Even the wrap company fixes the wrap after the truck gets messed up from wheeling for free. That’s how allot of racing is.. You build it,then go out and get some sponsors to pay your bills. Only I don’t need there free shit. But My wife figured that if there borrowing the truck for shows I need some compensation. So now it’s a fair trade.

That is what I meant sponsors pay for it. Even though you built it out of your own money of which you have a lot of why not let everyone use it and pay for it. Any ordinary person would not be able to build something like that out of their own pocket. You are lucky 3 corporations lots of tax write off. Just saying.

    Check build thread!
There was only 1 TRDOR ACLB in my province, and it was black, which isn't my favourite color. Instead of waiting up to a year for a custom allocation, I grabbed the one in stock.

Regular cast/calendared vinyl will not last as a long as material designed to be printed on and laminated.
3M 180 with Comply is thicker than colored vinyls.
I have not been in digital printing business in years, but IIRC 3m had a 5 year warranty on 180.
I unwrapped vehicles that had 180 on it for 8 years and paint looked brand new underneath.

It took the damage so well I bought another one a week later. The first was a 16 sport when I rolled it it was at 143k miles. I was actually taking my nephew on his first camping trip he’s only 5. Luckily neither of us has so much as a scratch. Was a little sore the next few days but that’s all. Crested a Hill at about 45-50 and traffic was at a standstill. Put it in the ditch and went through a couple of trees on the passenger side. Luckily I had the steel bumper so it handled that well until it started to roll ended up with the passenger side he was siting in on the ground luckily the windows were down no glass broke. Only airbags were the curtain air bags the fronts didn’t go off. I actually wrapped it with my girlfriends dad who owns a vinyl company. Took us about 16 hours but was totally worth it. Ended up in a 2017 super white off road with only 70k miles. I am thinking of getting some matte grey and Matte black vinyl and using the super white as a base for a snow camo. I’ll post to the thread when this comes to fruition and I can find the time.

Yes it most definitely did. The rack was crushed in the front down into the sunroof glass but thankfully it didn’t break. The rack was a hooke road they’re pretty cheap and the install isn’t to bad I’ve done two of them now and the quality isn’t that bad. The Offroad I just bought has a front runner installed and I absolutely love it.

    Just Getting Started...

I've been debating trying it... I've done wheels and the hood on an F-150 and they held up until I sold it for Tiny the Taco.

I went ahead and installed mine by myself earlier this spring, I think it was in April. So far its held up great, its beaten with plenty of pinstripes from trails but no deep scratches or chips yet!
OG color is quicksand, I went with KPMF matte platinum dark sage & Avery gloss gold metallic if i remember correctly.
Ordered a 5'x75' roll for the base color, ended up being around 900$ (CAD) a quick vynil wrap kit off Amazon for maybe 30$ and the mountain decals, had redone in the colors for 600$.

All in all, a great time consuming experience for a first time full wrap on a truck! I had some experience prior with bigger side decals and such but never a full wrap job. It took around 50hrs to complete all within a week of working on it after hours till the late hours of the night. Took off the side fenders, mirror caps, door handles, grill, tail gate and front bumper. Thankfully our trucks don't have to many curves to it so it lays of fairly easily!

So far pretty satisfied with how it came out, not a show car quality but i have plenty of roll left for small corrections if I rip parts of the wrap in the trail eventually. Mainly decided to wrap to protect the oem paint, I got tired of buffing the scratches out every now and then lol.
Here's how it looked prior to having it wrapped.

But essentially as long as you do a good paint correction/prep work before laying the wrap, I didnt run into many issues. Having an extra set of hands helps but doable alone. Just take your time, learn to work with the material & use the heat to your advantage to do contours etc.

The only "big issue" i had was the roof line from the A pillar to the back of the cab! I wanted to have it look one piece so i have a 12ft long 10'' wide strip running along the area. Everything lined up well but when i got to contour the cab, the material was stretching 3 ways so i just did a small cut near the top of the back window line (barely visible unless you look for it) and wraped between the bed & cab.

I have a bit more info on my build thread here:

    Looks good!
For those who are thinking about doing it, start from the back and work you way forward. This way your seems will overlap correctly if you have to use more than one piece of material. Edges will not peel back overtime by the airflow.
