Vinyl wraps

Did you remove the shark fin and 3rd brake for the wrap?

 

I didn't, no. I had some of my employee do it for me, we're in the wrapping/signage biz. We kept it simple, had the vinyl in stock and i wasn't sure if I'd keep it.

If you look closely the picture from the back you can see a slight gap around the back window and brake light. If I really want we can do it again and i would remove everything for a better fit, but this was essentially free for me.

 

took off the carbon fiber and added the honeycomb...

 

The honey comb is nice. I think it looks better than the carbon.

Any idea if this stuff will stick to interior molding?? One of the trucks I am looking at has that goofy red dash panel over the glovebox.

How much did that run you up in NY?
Did you go with 3M or avery?

 

I had the hood wrapped for $150. Later I had the roof wrapped for $300, both with 3M.

 

Seems to be about the going rate. I paid a little less than that but labor is sometimes cheaper in the south.

Yes looks good prolly more money for cutting around the sunroof. Mine was a ittle more because they took off the roofrack

 

I'm thinking about getting the hood done - the glare off the hood can be brutal when the sun reflects off of it...

 

wow never thought of vinyl wrapping the roof, awesome idea. I was going to bed liner it but I think I might try this.

 

I'm thinking of doing the hood (and the angled portion near the windshield), roof, mirror caps, lower tailgate, and rear bumper caps..

 

Are those the xb morimoto fogs you got there?

 

Yup. Had them about 2 years now, no problems

What is the lifespan of wrap? How long does it take before it starts to peel and get gross?

 

My matte black hood has taken a beating for over a year and still looks good. I do not wash the truck more than once every couple months, and it sits outside always. I am counting on 2-3 years at least before I need fo replace, but 6-7 should be the lifespan with actual good care.
