I like the idea of doing the Viper Cut. Looking at doing some tires and suspension over the next year and a Viper Cut fits nicely into the picture. And there are a TON of videos out on how to do it. I'm not worried about that. This is not a HOW TO question.

But this is a WOULD YOU do it again question and what would you do differently? I see a lot of people post up that they did it but I never hear if there were any regrets or lessons learned a year later. Maybe there aren't any? But if there are, I'd like to include them into the planning for when / if I do it.

Did you do the Viper Cut?
    Would you do it again?
    What would you do differently?
    Why?

Reason I ask, I'm considering making a more conservative cut when I do it. If need be, I can always trim more off. But you can't un-trim it.
Also, I'm Magnetic Grey (the dark grey shade). It looks tough on the lighter colored trucks where the tire is more prominent in the opening. Not sure if the black and dark grey trucks will still see a visual difference as much.

I dunno, I think once folks do this they just move on and accept that the truck will never be the same. Biggest hit can be re-sale. Anyhow, that may be why not many folks follow up after the fact. It's also very personal committing to a major change to the truck.

Dont cut it off. Tear it off on tree stumps and skidder ruts.

Did my viper cut at a shop. I showed the picture of how I wanted it and they were like “are you sure? That’s really aggressive.” No regrets.

I have everything I need to do it, even bought the trim in white and black colors, I have a white truck. I'm still looking to get a nice set of balls so I can build the courage to cut the bumper. But f***k yeah cut it!!!

Cut it how you want it. My wife reminds me that for 25 years and 2 trucks before my Taco, those went straight to salvage.

I did this, I ended up realizing I liked the full factory look more than the viper cut and ended up replacing with a high clearance bumper shortly after.

I say this as someone who did a high clearance chop on my previous GX470 and a 4th gen t4r before that. Taco bumper with a chop looks terrible. If I was about function over form, I’d rather just rip the valence off or run a low pro “bumper” with the angled wings. But to each their own.

I want to see someone do a more aggressive cut with a flatter cut to include the lower portion of the center black trim piece. The straight accross cuts can look really sleek.

I did the cobra cut, way more aggressive than the viper cut, yet still more conservative at the same time.

I would not do it just so my tires are more prominent. You have really already answered your question with a MGM at 25’ you won’t even notice a difference.

IMO I'm not one to chop up a 45K truck.
