That's why we need to know the model or workings of the Remote Start.
We need to know how it is relaying a Key ID to the ECU.

Ok so, any thought as to why it all of the sudden has stopped working normally? I have not tinkered with the truck in some time. I can't imagine I've done anything to upset it.

I should also mention, I just remote started it from my couch with no trouble. Seems to be a rare thing maybe 1/8 times I've fired it up today.

I looked through the documentation and install sheet for that system and I can't find any reference to an immobilizer module nor can I find that Viper even sells one so I'm wondering if whoever installed the system stuck a key transponder near the lock cylinder somewhere and maybe it fell off or got moved.

I seen mention of a BitWriter. That locks/unlocks some programming features.
I never seen mention of how to “bypass” the immobilizer.

I appreciate your effort in assisting me, seriously. This is so beyond me, with the risk of screwing with it I'll take it to an authorized dealer and update you guys with what they find.

    Cheers boys

Thats why I hate aftermarket alarms and remote starts, they are nice when they work I guess but they tend to be more trouble than they are worth IMO.

Can't tell you how many I've removed over the years cause they were causing issues, they many times are pretty poorly installed and most of the aftermarket alarms can be bypassed in seconds if someone wanted to.

I just pulled one out today for someone because it kept disabling the vehicle for no reason and leaving them stranded.

Yah I get where you're coming from. Eight or so years back I lived in Memphis, my window was smashed eight times in a couple months time. I was tired of getting windows replaced and filing police reports. Viper was the result. I will say nearly a decade in and it's been good to me.

    Update: FIXED.

Started car with key in ignition (normal start), immediately after pressed and held button on receiver (located on top of windshield) for 30 seconds or so. I was informed the blue led should turn on and hold, at that point you can release button.

My led light never came on but it worked well. Hope this can help someone in the future.
