So I've been doing some research for a little while now and have a couple questions for anyone who has experience with the Viper brand security/remote start systems.

So far here are my options:

Option 1: Buy Viper 5806 system from Best Buy for around $500 and have the system installed by the geek squad. There seems to be some mixed opinions on the installation quality with the geek squad but for the most part they seem to get the job done.

Option 2: Buy 5706 system from eBay for around $200 and take it to a qualified installer to have it installed. What can I expect to pay for labor?

Option 3: Do like I have always done and by the system from EBay and install it myself. I just get paranoid when it comes to electrical work and installing it myself would void the warranty but it beats paying a crapload of labor costs (I think :notsure:).

So my question is (other than labor costs) which kind of bypass module is best for this type of work? The system itself doesn't come with one so I'm going to have to buy one separately.

Would it be better to just pay Best Buy the $500 and have them take care of everything so that it makes it easier on me?

I'd like to hear from anyone who has done this before as well as any experiences you may have had with the system. Thanks everyone.

I bought a crimestopper remote start on Amazon that was 90 percent plug and play, it was made specifically for tacoma. The kit had the bypass module already wired in to it and there was a plug for the ignition switch that went in between the switch and harness. All the wires that you had to hook up were marked only like 6. Search on youtube under tacoma remote install and you will see the install.
