    These guys played my high school when I first saw them...ran into the lead singer back in '84 at the airport in Havana Cuba about a year later...he remembered the gig.

    So, hopefully it is obscure enough (after being properly called out yesterday!)

    Now you got me thinking. I think that the first cassette I purchased is The Cars: Candy-O. I bought a small handful of tapes before somebody turned me on to the Columbia House deal: Buy 10 tapes for $1.00, then buy 3 more in the next six months, or some kind of deal like that. I was all over that deal!

    In 1981 I got a side job - I was living in Chicago and someone needed wallpaper taken down and the room repainted.

    I had the keys and worked overnight one weekend. I had a portable radio playing the local FM rock station, and around 1 AM, this song came on

    I remember going to my local record shop the next day and imitating the sound- the girl knew right away what I was referring to.
