Yeah, like an old friend of mine used to say, something about his voice is just so moving, you can tell he is singing from his heart.

I saw a lot of drug casualties growing up, and somehow I was able to not be one of them.

Meeting my wife is what really set me straight- she completely avoided that culture growing up and I knew if I wanted to stay with her I would need to completely avoid it also. Still happily together more than 30 years later.

 

I witnessed more than a couple wasted lives growing up, and lost my best friend to drugs. I rearranged my life to distance myself. I am one of the fortunate ones.
