Ok so today I tried to log onto my chase account so that I could view my balances on my accounts. Well I typed my password and user name in and it directed me to this page. https://mfasa.chase.com/auth/fcc/login which asked for my social, mother maiden name, DOB, credit/debit card number w/ pin. Well I work at a bank and knew that they would never ask me all this information so I didn't put the information in and called chase. They told me that it was a virus on my computer and it wasn't them. I pay every year for McAfee virus protections and did a scan and nothing came up. Does anyone know anything about this? What can I do to get rid of this? McAfee told me that they dont gaurd against this kind of thread which is BS because when I paid for this they told me I was proteted fom Viruses and insure my computer. Can anyone help?

Download Avast!. Dump McAfee. Problem solved.

Actually it doesn't sound like you have a virus. It sounds more like their site had been hacked. Good thing you were smart enough not to enter any of your info.

Macafe sucks. Use AVG, or Microsoft Security Essentials.

I've used just about every anti-virus package out there, whether commercial packages for work or free stuff for my home PCs. I like Avast and AVG a lot but I've been very pleased with Microsoft Security Essentials. (Yech, I need some mouthwash after saying that...)

It sounds like you've picked up some sort of redirect or add-on hijack in your browser. Anti-virus might catch it... if one of those don't work then check out Spybot Search & Destroy.

go to www.trendmicro.com and do a free online scan. their scans are very thorough. this is just an online scan that will get rid of what you have but its not a software that is on your computer. after you do this scan i agree with the rest and get avast.

i've been running Microsoft Live One Care for 2-3 years and never had an issue. you can also use it on 3 computers for the same cost and remotely manage them as well....like $45 a year or something. i figure if somone knows where their security holes are, it should be microsoft, right???

You guys are awsome.... I'm going to try Avast first and see if that fixes my problem, then go down the list until one of them does. I'm def getting rid of McAfee asap. I'm just very lucky that I didn't give them my information. The site that it directed me to looked exactly like Chase.com. The links at the top and the bottom of th page ever directed me back to the real chase.com site.
