Last I saw a couple of weeks ago is they had shoveled out enough of the Webster pass drift to get side by sides through.

This can be helpful if trail status gets updated https://www.trailsoffroad.com/states/CO/high-country

Is anyone in the group interested in wheeling Black Bear Pass tomorrow (8/1) in the AM?

I just finished Stony pass up to Kite Lake and back to Silverton this afternoon, Imogene yesterday. I've been enjoying trails all week. I'm staying on Ouray on 7/31 and 8/1. My group had to depart early for the return trip back to their homes. All had run BB in the past except me.

Planning a trip to the Ouray area the week of Sep 20 as long as trails are open. 17 Tacoma, lift, 33s, sliders, and front number. It will be my wife and I and 2 dogs.

What are some of the easier/scenic trails to hit? Ive seen pictures of old mining towns on some of the trails, where are those at? I am not an overly experienced driver so I really have no business on black bear yet. Just looking for scenics views, some camp spots, good food and beer. Thanks.

You'll be fine. The trails in that area are well maintained. I was driving a big old LX470 with a lift, sliders, 33s, weighing around 7,000 LBS. Ha!

Be sure to see if you think you might need to take medication to prevent altitude sickness. It works.

The first pass we drove when got there was Cinnamon pass and Alpine Loop.

Then Imogene, Ophir, Stony, Animas Forks (Ghost Town).

    This book will be helpful.

One year late but I’m back, maybe temporarily, maybe permanently…

    Woo-hoo, back in CO.

I used to live up in Allenspark and am now camping down in Lyon’s.

Hwy 7 was messed up when we left after the flooding of 2013 and apparently is messed up again because it’s closed…again!

Looking forward to heading up into the mountains again to do some fishing and wheeling.
