visiting livingston/vancouver area...help

greetings from texas

i plan to visit the vancouver and livingston area this summer with some friends from here texas.

i know no one up there, and i have never visited.

we will be up there for a month, and are looking for a place to stay..

rent a house, stay in some short term apartments.. etc.

yes i know i can google, but id rather give my money to a tacomaworld member if he had a rental house for his mods

if not,
any of you have any recommendations of where I can look? what areas to avoid? or even better, have a rent house i can rent for a month?
