I probably shouldn't be posting this on Christmas eve, but here goes. If no knowledgeable replies I will bump it later.

Looking to remove and service my driver's side visor. It is making squeaky noises over bumps. Squeeks go away if I put the other end into the clip, but I move it around constantly, especially this time of the year with the low sun.

I've removed the two screws holding it in place and it turns out it is held in place with more than those two visible screws on the plate.

Has anyone jumped into this problem before? Does the headliner have to be partially removed?

I completely pulled my visors to remove the safety decals with an iron. Removed the screws, yanked them out of the roof and then unplugged the wiring harness for the vanity mirror lights. I seem to remember it taking a little force but not so much I was afraid something was going to snap. It’s like a metal clip or something that holds it up without screws.
Definitely check for a video on removal before taking my advice, but I don’t recall doing anything special.

I've replaced the passenger side visor before, no problem. I think I had an issue with the drivers side visor being loose. I wrapped a little teflon tape onto the screws and reinserted.
So far so good. This is on my 2006 Tacoma.

There is a clip holding it in place.
Christmas eve is not such a bad time after all to ask an esoteric question.
One of the things I will be doing tomorrow.

    Thanks guys.
Got it out and it is broken and that is why it is squeaking. Added a little lubricant to it and I’ll see if that helps with the noise.

And you were successful in getting those decals off? I would like to at least remove the one on the hard plastic mirror cover.

On my 21 that label seems to be silkscreened on to both passenger and driver sides. A paint degreaser might work. As they say test in an inconspicuous place.

I’ll just spend some time in a Pick-n-Pull discovering if the individual part is removable and replaceable with out breakage.

I only did the stickers on the fabric that were visible with the visors flipped up. Others have had success removing all of them, but I’m not sure how they did the ones on the plastic. Some sort of solvent as suggested above I assume.
I’ve seen people suggest using a heat gun/blow dryer on the fabric stickers then goo off for the adhesive, but a clothes iron is faster/easier imo.
Use a paper towel or piece of scrap fabric over the sticker and iron it until the sticker peels off easily. Then put the paper towel or whatever over the residue and heat it with the iron again and the adhesive will soak into it.
Repeat a couple of times until the fabric of the visor is clean, using a fresh piece of towel each time so you don’t transfer the adhesive back and forth

    Unintended Consequences!!

The lubrication worked well on the squeak. Now the visor swings from side to side with a good turn hitting my head; can't win!

Hm thats funny thats where mine also cracked. I think it comes from there not being a stop on the inside for the plastic part that attaches into the header. The shaft is flared so over time pulling it down or putting stress on it causes the crack. Mine hits me in the face when making turns if the visor is out over the driver side window blocking the sun.

Let me put my tinfoil hat on for a sec but I could see it technically being a problem and causing an accident in the right situation. Wonder if there is a way to report it to Toyota? I guess they don't care till it actually causes an accident though haha.

I picked up a total visor replacement on Amazon a couple of years ago? Still working fine.
