got the rear markers figured out thank you
It’s quick taps plan to make it nicer later

know to figure out license plate light bar and best area to tap without making a mess. have a universal kit so it should work but might not be as clean as a tee out harness at the tow.

I mean technically might get a year out of it
    Plan to improve it sooner
Gonna see if there’s waterproof taps

generally best way I know is step down NSPA krimpaseals I have. That lets you join new wires and be waterproof.

Wanted to get it on. That’ll let me see how everything routes and if I need to shorten.

shouldnt be hard to upgrade from the quick taps to NSPA.

or maybe a whole tap disconnectable harness but that costs more.

are you saying make a tap harness?

honestly with the NSPA krimpaseal it’s good but idk if perfect.
It’s one of the only thing approved for Audi/VW wiring repair including external.
Basically the same for Mercedes except theirs have solder. Not much difference.

only issue is I can never get a full crimp using the Insulated jaw of my snap on electrical pliers

so I use the sharper Non Insul jaw
Which usually puts a hole in the sheathing. That I try and seal by heating the crimp to shrink and let the adhesive ooze.
To cover the hole so crimp barrels aren’t exposed and touch each other to short.
On that circuit assume worst that can happen blow fuse.

realistically better is probably do that AND shrink tube. AND maybe dab of liquid electrical tape.

might need to find better heat shrink tubing.
Heard RayChem DR25 is best and has best ratio. Used in pro motorsports.

whatever assorted heat shrink kit I have from Harbor Freight does not shrink much. It will barely slide over, and then not shrink all the way…
which is not surprising with Harbor Freight.

my tail taps I wanted to leave enough slack to barely place the tail light on the tailgate when I put it out
But that leaves my harness kinda dangling under the bed cubby.
    could probably either:
    1. Route it along another existing harness, zip tie to it or corrugated tubing
    2. Use some of those little plastic sticky squares used as harness route tie-down points
