That may very well be it. I'll say the truck has some weird lighting quirks; i.e. fog lights are only available when the headlights are on. TBH, when the headlights are on, the low filament is so washed out by the headlights it probably wouldn't even matter whether they were turned off anyway. But with the VLED's being so bright, the white light it produces is probably why people are getting flashed. I dunno how the truck would react to the test as I can turn the DRL's off completely on the stalk. When I go off duty I'll give it a go just to see.

What I understand is that Foglights only available when low beams are on is actually mandated by law. All vehicles operate this way from the factory that I've seen.

Yeah the stock foglights are pretty weak. I notice the difference because they are more yellow (3800K) vs my headllights at 4300K, so you can see the fogs throw light out wide and low right in front of the vehicle. I'd rather have that light while the hi beams are on, or in difficult weather be able to turn off the headlights completely, and just use the fogs, to reduce the reflection from a snowstorm.

Folks may flash as the two vehicles get close together; the light is very diffused, and from a distance should not be a problem, but up close, yes the VLEDs are bright and do disperse a wide angle. The dimmer wire could be connected to either the Park or Headlight circuit then.

LOL, every other car I've driven didn't care the headlights weren't on to allow me to turn on the fog lights. I've had Chevy's, Ford's, Dodge's, Mazda's, all of them let me put foglights on once I turned the selector to parking lights (my GLI was different, it was on or off, there *was* no parking light setting!).

I really wanted to get in on the TRS GB for the morimoto LED fog's, but I need a new desk chair first lol.

lots of folks mod their tacoma for the anytime fogs. I haven't done mine yet. I've got the parts to convert my fogs to HID in a projector lens, and then I'll need the anytime mod, as HIDs don't like to be turned on/off when switching from low to hi beam.

Yeah, eventually I'll get around to doing that...for now I'm going to retro so that should give me enough light to not even need my high beams unless the power goes out or something lol...Plus with LED fog's they should be robust enough to handle switching on and off too.

For those that have noticed the DTRL remains on while the headlights are on, mine are on too.

I didn't hook up the dimmer switch because my headlights are still brighter <Sylvania ultras>

I previously wired a switch for my DTRL to prevent the original bulbs from burning out the housing. so I can use my switch to cycle them on and off as I please.

I also have the anytime fog light mod.

So are these DRL on (white) if you switch on your DRL, or your parking lights?

If I understand correctly (on a stock '14 tacoma) DRL are the amber lights closest to the grill. The next position on the selector is parking lights; the DRL lights and the little amber lights on the corners are lit up. Is that correct?

Can you run these white DRLs like you would stock, without the little parking lights on the corners illuminated?
