    I just installed a Volant CAI on my bro-n-laws 2010 Frontier, and i gotta say Volant CAI's are horrible. The instructions were crap plus none of the dang predrilled holes lined up. I wouldnt install this junk on any of my vehicles even if it was free.

    i take it back, one predrilled hole lined up. and yeah it was the right one for his truck.

    I installed mine in my 05 tacoma. By myself. No instructions. Was easy and everything lined up perfectly. Yeah and I'm a chick. Love my volant. So maybe wrong year or something.

    i can assure you it was the right one. we even had to make a custom bracket to relocate the horns.

    did you call the manufacturer?

    they have incredible customer service over there...

    and they spend a ton of money on the tooling for those plastic intakes - it is very unusual for anything to be off with 'em since the first one will be like the last one, and they make the tooling based on the prototype.

    i've installed several volant intakes and never had an issue :shrugs:

    i hope it works out for you.

    Just picked up a Volant from another member and it fits perfectly in my 09, I love it so far!

    Just have one question though, Did anyone get any type of piping or anything to bridge the gap from the intake hole to where the air is coming in from the wheel well? I have about a 1/2" of gap between the intake and the hole in the wheel well. Want to close that up and get it sealed so it is truly all "Cold Air" going into the Volant.

    Any thoughts guys?

    I'm with ya OP. Must just be a quality control thing. My Volant went in a little on the tough side too. Only 2 of the mounting holes lined up properly and the rubber gasket they use to seal the airbox to the fender is a joke. But, I wedged it all in there and it seems to be working now.
