ok, maybe this is a typo, but why would 265's rub at all. That is nearly a stock size.

265 is width... note the change in height 265/70/17. Also the wheels have a different width and offset than stock, so the backspacing, poke, etc is different.

I completely understand sizing. My point is that no 265 should rub unless your offset and camber settings are not right.

A 265/70-17 is the same size as a 265/75-16, barely larger than a stock tire. The height change is 1 inch OAL and half an inch when fitted to the wheel. The tire diameter goes up from 30.6 to 31.6, no reason for rubbing at all.

I rub my plastic linings off-road with a 265/75/16 on a 16x8 et0 wheel. Alignment settings are roughly stock.

Strange. is your truck a TRD? Do you think some negative offset would have helped. I have seen people go with some negative offset on 8 inch wheels.

Not a TRD. Some tires run wider than others. Also a more negative offset would cause more rubbing by pushing the wheel further from the centerline, which will make it hit harder against the cab mount at full lock and stuff. That's why you can fit a skinny 33" on stock wheels but not on most aftermarket wheels without rubbing/trimming.

Just to be on the safe side I ordered another wheel from @runnin4tacos, perfectly willing to wait the advertised 2 months. To my complete surprise, I got a tracking number yesterday and I should have the spare on Thursday. I don’t know how many more they have, but if you’re looking I’d hit them up.

So to further follow up on rubbing when it comes to wheel / tire,

In theory, a 265/70r17 or a 265/75r16 with the respective spec wheel of 17x8.5 -10 or a 16x8 et0 should not rub on a tacoma as it is a +1 size tire with a fairly conservative wheel spec.

Generally when people ask about "rub", they are concerned about the cab mount. You *may* see rubbing on the trim under compression or say if that plastic liner did get pulled or say "damaged". Some people have the OEM flaps as well which would contribute to minor plastic rubbing, while others take those off as the first they they do.

The tire itself is also something, not every tire is the same size when we break it down between mud/hybrid/all terrain. When comparing a Toyo Open Country M/T to say a BFG Ko2, the Ko2 would be a lot more conservative to the size.

There are quite a few considerations and factors when it comes down to it. If anyone wants to discuss further, please feel free to message us. We've done essentially all the combinations of our spec te's and different tire sizes between the brand. However, @MESO still holds the throne for the 37's on te37's on a Tacoma...

As for an update on the Rays orders.

We are equally, if not, more concerned about outstanding orders and did finally speak with the higher ups as everything is being held up at port due to the congestion. We are finally receiving containers in the order they are produced and fulfilling in the respective order as we receive. Te37xt's (standard and a couple optional finishes) did come in and we did contact everyone who has an open order on those. For the main hot topic at hand, special order Te37x's are set to be unloaded within the next few weeks, the ETA we are being relayed is 2-4 weeks.

We do apologize for any inconvenience, as all the delays as due to the circumstances at hand is out of anyone's control. With that, we are very thankful for everyone as you guys are rockstars with your patience and understanding. We cannot wait to receive these Te37x's as they are quite special and I'm sure everyone will be absolutely thrilled to have these gems in their hands.

Ive got my Ray's lugs and valve stems sitting on my workbench where they will gather dust until sometime in July when my wheels arrive! You've got the more fun thing to look at while you wait :D

To my surprise, my wheels came with valve stems. Like you, I bought them while I was waiting for the wheels to arrive.

Crap! $70 bucks that’ll be too late to return by the time the wheels arrive. Better safe than sorry though

True, as it took a long 8 months for them to arrive (I ordered these before I bought the Tacoma). :p

Depending on how much longer the center caps/lug nuts take to arrive, I may just install them with a set of conical lug nuts from Amazon in the meantime.
