Buy a used one off ebay and try. Personally I believe the Volk Racing center cap looks better.

I unfortunately come with some bad news today.

The original design did not test as well as Volk Japan was hoping on a JWT scale. Its strong enough to pass but not as of the standards that Volk Japan wants to achieve with this 17x8.5 -10 project. Therefore, Volk is redesigning the wheel spokes to take more load as to test better on strength and durability. Rough outline they game me is

3-4 weeks to cad and redesign the wheel.

approximately 3-4 weeks to retest at JWT

    production start.

ETA to land here approximately June to July.

I tried to ask Volk to produce the wheel as they have it now as it would pass the JWT standards. Their response was, as this is only for the American market, they want to produce the strongest wheel possible to handle the abuse they have seen us put our trucks to. They dont want any users to have any issues even at roughest terrain and situations we go through. More time now will result in a better overall product for the future. They did stress that this project has their most utmost attention in Japan and they are working as best and as fast as they can.

So as it stands, were backed up again. This would be the last delay in the process. Again we do apologize to the first 25 who have waited so patiently. Please let us know what we can do for you guys who have ordered already. PM or call us at (818) 507-7500. If you need to change, modify or cancel your order we will cater to you as best we can.

Please dont hesitate to ask any questions, were here to answer them.

This sucks, if i didn't already buy tires to anticipate the April timeline i would definitely modify my order. How is it that Rays/Volks can't get it together for a design that's been around for so long? Again, i think some of us are kind of stuck at this point.

Totally understand. The design has been around forever but this spec and size have not. Volk creates their own wheel, just not copies an existing one so we depend on them and their expertise to create us the strongest wheel possible. So the positive side is were getting the optimal wheel vs negative is its taking forever. Im with you as well as I have tires that have been waiting here for my set which is with the first batch.

It sucks to wait but it will be worth it I think. I still want them so I’ll play the waiting game still. I’m happy they didn’t give in and just give a set with moderate strength. It will be fun to say I have one of the first 25 sets ever made. Thanks for the update Chuck. Keep on being you!

Looks the same but aren’t made the same. Cast vs Forged is a different thing. FN wheels is like buying Payless shoes as Volks is like buying Nikes etc...
