Hello TW! I'm hoping someone can help me figure out if a 12" VRS Bed Rack pairs well with a Retrax cover on a gen 3. Specifically I'm looking at RetraxONE MX, and I can't find the proper dimensions for the Tacoma model anywhere so I can check it against the VRS fitting guide.

Any of you have this combo already? I love the VRS rack design and looks, but I'm also looking to replace my crappy soft tri-fold with a retractable cover, so if anyone has the VRS rack with another retractable cover model, I'd love to hear from you as well!

The VRS is a brand new product, so most members here aren't going to be able to help with your question, but I can!!

The RetraxONE MX does not have the the integrated Trax Rail System, so this is the version of the VRS that you would want: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/vrs-overla...au-compatible-bed-rack-2nd-and-3rd-gen-tacoma

The maximum cover width for the VRS on your truck, per the guidelines in our Tonneau Fitment Guide, is 59.38". Just looking at the pictures on the Retrax website, I would say you are good to go.

If you decide to get the RetraxONE XR, you would get this rack, and it would utilize their built in track system: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/vrs-overla...au-compatible-bed-rack-2nd-and-3rd-gen-tacoma

We have one on our Raptor and it is sweet!!

Thanks for all the great info, @KB Voodoo! I didn't realize you guys have the XR-compatible rails as well, it looks pretty clean and obviously the better choice to maintain the Retrax seal along the edge. Is there a way to purchase the rails and the crossbars at first and the 12" rack system components later? It would be great to have both options eventually but start out with the simpler one first.

    Yes, absolutely.

We actually designed the entire system with that process in mind (not everyone wants to start with full overlanding rack).

We haven't added all the upgrade options to the website yet, but email us at support@kbvoodoo.com and we will definitely get you setup!!
