Ok so i have heard a few differnt things about what to do and wanted to get an official verdict. i have a 2010 Tacoma access cab 4x4 trd with off road. I got the ultimate lift and terra grapplers (285/70/17) and i am having a problem when i get off the free way or on. My car starts beeping and the brakes for the front driver side start to come on. i know it is the VSC and i understand why, but i want to know the solution. here is what i have heard:

option 1: go through the ECu and zerpo out the Yaw settings so that the copmputer can compensate for the new tire size http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/691254-post.html

option 2: 4wheel parts told me that i needed to have the speedodometer recalibrated and i would need to buy a box that will do that, of course they said that they would sell it to me and install it for a price.

Option 3: hold down the VSC button(the car with the squiggly lines) for three seconds until the LSD light goes off and this will take off the VSC for the most part, but you have to do this each time you start the truck.

I have tried the last option but i do not think i was going fast enough for it to engage anyways. so i will have to try it again ( i will update this thread when i do)

i would also like to zero out the yaw settings and plan on doing that next, if there is any one who has had success with that(or anything else) let me know.

Ps i live in Norcal (santa rosa) and if anyone wants to help out let me know. thanks

    my first post!

#1 , and until you do #1 , do #3 , but you might still need to do #3 after you do #1

I could be wrong but even if you do hold down the vsc button doesn't it just automatically come back on after a certain speed?

No , that is if you press it , holding it down for 3-5 seconds turns it " off "

I have tried all but option number 2 (i probably will not try that one) and they did not work. My best suggestion or current solution is to drive slow when going through on or off ramps. As long as you are not going too fast it will not lock up on you.

You have pushed and held the VSC button so that the AUTO LSD and VSC lights come on , and after a few seconds the AUTO LSD light goes off , correct ?

This should keep the VSC from acting up on you , but it still kicks on ?

I have tried all of the above, and unfortunately none of it has worked. I heard that there are certain lift kits that don't mess with it, I have the toytec ultimate lift kit and mine still goes off, I just go slower around turns.

I heard that Les Schwab makes a lift kit that specifies whether or not you have VSC, they may be onto something there...

when you hold the VSC button for three seconds it turns off, but once you go above 40mph it automatically turns back on.

I installed my lift a while ago ( billies with eibach/toytec coils and icon progressive aal in the back) got that aligned. Didn't have this problem till this weekend, which is right after I got bigger tires. Running the same rims but new tires. Nitto trail grapplers, 285/70r16. So I'm pretty sure it's the tire. Truck scared the shit out of me yesterday when it happened.

No kidding! Can't be good for the truck either. Been trying to replicate it all day on fm flat road and can't. Easy to do it on inclines tho. So I think I've narrowed it down to the new tires and the vsc sensor. Just need to figure out what I should do

It's just like ABS , not going to damage the truck
