Hello - I have a 2013 Tacoma V6, sport double cab. Yesterday we were returning from a camping trip pulling our 20' trailer on the freeway when the VSC Indicator light up. It did not seem to affect the towing performance for the remaining 20 miles of our trip. I have read the manual and the various posts, including this one: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...rols-trac-auto-lsd-a-trac-rear-locker.212057/ , yet, I can not get the light to go off. I have followed the manual procedures to hold the button for 3 seconds, but no luck.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this before I call the dealer to schedule an appointment?

    Appreciate any insights! 0514151518a.jpg

I disconnected the positive terminal for 60 seconds, reconnected and started the engine. VSC light was still on. Tried holding the switch for 3 seconds and light still stayed on.

Yes, it turns out that when towing my RV trailer it would cause the light to go on. I was using a tow bar system that was to tight, thus when the trailer was on, it would cause the the light to go. I had the tow bar system loosened up and that took care of the problem.

2010 Access Cab, 2.7L 4x4 . I have this same issue. VSC light is on and stays on. I have tried the above thread and a few others. Light remains on. Any suggestions other than the tow bar?

Light came on after the parking brake froze on. I needed to use 4 lo to get off the roadway. I suspect that this is what caused the issue.

Why not get the codes pulled?

Great idea. I found the codes, finally. Generic OBD reader does not pick up codes. Attached are the photos of the code text.

I tried the resets in the thread above and it doesn't clear the light. Talked with the dealer and they state it must come in for diagnostics.

Issue came up when truck "crabbed" when i was trying to break the brakes loose when they froze. I used 4 lo.

Yes I know it was stupid but wasn't left with much of a choice.

Any suggestions, solutions? Dealer may be only option but all dealers are 4 to 7 hours drive.

I feel the need to define "froze" in my earlier text. It was -30 C and brakes froze after being in heated garage for 4 hours.

    Jimmy,

I gave the procedure a try and still no luck. Light is still on. I may have to breakdown and take it to the dealer as this has irritated me so much I bought a 2013. Now I have to clear the warning light to be able to sell it.

I appreciate your help. I am keeping that little gem in the glove box for the "next time"

    Thanks
    Didy

The final outcome: I took the truck to a dealer and in 20 minutes they recalibrated the warning lights. I believe that because there is a calibration required, simply shorting pins will not rectify the warning light being on. Charge was $50. Well worth the 8 hours of driving to get there.

    Thanks for all suggestions.
