It’s pulling to the right like I’ve got a flat tire. I just don’t understand why it’s gotta be this damn difficult.

Is it pulling because of the difference in caster?
I just got mine done yesterday.
    2” lift with oem UCA:

    9E7908C0-095A-47B6-B17C-1671AD151A66.jpg

It drives very straight. They test drove the truck themselves, too.
I am still on oem wheels and tires at the moment. Not sure if that should matter, though.

The same shit everyone else has.

    Incompetence.

Alignment machines need calibrated. If they aren’t. Or the techs aren’t able to do their job properly things like this happen.

    Read this thread -

Go buy a 20$ angle finder at Lowe’s and measure everything yourself. See what you come up with.

The guy I talked to where I got mine said they always test drive the vehicle, because they don’t want to put too much trust in the computers.

Threads like this always make it hard to trust these “professionals”.

Sometimes they are actually professionals with years of experience and proper training and do perform their jobs correctly.

Other times, it’s just a person whose there to get paid just to do enough to get by without it being visibly noticeable that they are in fact incompetent at what they do.

It never hurts to understand how these processes are done and mechanics behind what they are actually doing to your vehicle.

Many times, you are putting your life in their hands. And you sure as shit better hope they know what their doing.

I’ve basically paid almost 1000 dollars to be told that my truck can’t be fixed and they have done all they can to it. Said they would put another set of tires on it and if that didn’t fix it then it was on me.

I beg to differ. I plan on putting my fighting socks on tomorrow before I go back up.

This is crazy since you don’t have any abnormal mods.

Not sure if this has been asked yet, but was the truck ever in a wreck?

Clean title and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that I’ve seen. The guy I bought it from was the only owner. Bought new at fox Toyota in Knoxville. Clean Carfax. And every service record receipt since he bought it. Down to the windshield wiper receipts.

Oh and I’ve been told today it’s probably the suspension I have on it causing all the problems. One guy told me that vehicles are not made to be altered. They’re made the way they are for a reason. Ignorant bastards.

And literally the only thing that has been changed is oil, tires and alignment that’s it

    Ok so a little update.

The shop that I initially had do the tires and alignment sucks assholes.

They have had my truck for 3 days this week and called this evening and said they got everything going good. They ended up putting a brand new set of tires on cause they came to the conclusion that I had a radial pull. But they realigned the truck again to which now give me absolutely no tire clearance and said that’s just where the truck has to be. Also said that my truck didn’t give them the option to reset the vsc this time so it must not have needed it this time.

Sooooooooo the first curve I took BAMM, there is the vsc shit again. I knew they were waiting till around 430 to call me today to come get the truck seeing how they close at 5 and are not open on Saturday cause I just hung out there for half a day yesterday watching them. Seem to have kinda irritated them and they told me yesterday that they went gonna work on it all day again.

So vsc is still acting up. Almost to my house I crossed the railroad track that I have to go over and it literally sounds like the front end is gonna call out from under it. Sounds like both ball joints are shot now. Kinda thinking they didn’t get the 150 ft lb of torque on it like is supposed to be there.

Going to quality tire pros tomorrow in Chattanooga TN to see if they can get everything worked out. Talked to a guy there today that said they do lifts on Tacoma’s and 4runners all the time with no issues and said they would set my caster wherever I wanted it set as long as they could get it with no cross caster which they said would make it pull. Something my last shop said had to be set to factory specs and couldn’t be adjusted. And they also said they could do a zero point calibration.

Maybe just maybe I’ll get everything worked out tomorrow.

Post up the current alignment specs.

Also, you DO want some cross caster to account for the crown in the road.

Another funny thing. I asked today for a new alignment sheet from the 3rd alignment and they said they didn’t have it cause they deleted it before printing. Said he just measured my tire to the fender and he moved it a half and inch. I bout flipped but I’ve alre invested 3 days of truck up there and a half day off work and figured I’d just go another route. They only charged me for nitrogen in the tires and I was gone

And correction from my last post. I told the guy where they had my caster set and that’s what he said as well about cross caster just not that much.

My caster was 2.9 on drivers side and 2.5 on passenger side on second alignment before dude moved it and I quote “1/2 inch back”

Screwed up that I’ve used the shop that all this started at for everything since I’ve started driving. Probably bout 4000$ in tires there in the past few or so years on a couple of different trucks and never had an issue. But they definitely lost me on this go around.

Yeah I’m done with that. That’s why I just kept my mouth shut this evening. It evidently wasn’t gonna get fixed. Lol. It’ll get fixed eventually. Just fiding someone that’s knows there shit is the hard part.

Just to prove I’m no mechanical idiot here. Me and a buddy of mine built this thing from head to toe. Made the gas tank, rear fender, handle bars, sissy bar, stretched the backbone and down tubes on the frame and probably a few other little odds and ends.

May not be the place for it but I’ve seen it a bunch in the past week from grabbing wrenches outta the garage. Lol

Ok so the whole vsc crap that I’ve been dealing with since owning this truck just showed it’s ass again. Since I posted originally I’ve been just turning it off every time I get in the vehicle. Push and hold the traction control button until the lsd light goes off. Been working fine ever since, until today.

So I got up this morning went to the truck, pushed and held the button like always, drive up to a super nice bluff on signal mtn and after I left about halfway down the mtn there was a right hand curve. Took it as I normally would and BAMM, no warning, no beeps no nothing. This time was worse than it ever has been. Actually pulled the truck from around 40 mph to 5 before it let go. Damn near put me into oncoming traffic. The woman that was driving the car that I almost bought had already drawn up thinking she was hit.

Now even with the vsc supposedly turned off every time I take a right hand curve this fucker locks the brakes up till it almost stops me. It’s a fight to say the least just to keep it in my lane. And speed doesn’t really have an affect on it. Tried just making a tight right hand curve in a parking lot after and the same shit happens. I’m absolutely lost and disgusted over this truck.

In the past to weeks I’ve installed lca bushings. Uca bushings. New lower ball joints. New axles. Had a fresh alignment done. And changed front and rear diff fluid. I kinda feel like this truck is like owning a boat. Never runs right and keeps taking money.

    Any thoughts on this
