All I can tell you is that Toyota says it is off when disengaged. If is still engages and causes a safety issue it needs to be reported.

Can you post this law you are talking about? According to Toyota when disengaged it is off. As for lift Toyota allows for a 3 inch lift before warranty is affected.

Thank you for the article. Yes but that does not say it cannot be turned off. It only says it has to be equipped. That article also covers ABS which is mandated and the ABS can also be turned off at least on my truck. I will contact Toyota corp. and see what they say. I will let you know if they respond.

Its has to be Always-ON unless vehicle has exception.
Do you have a exception for your vehicle model?
Try it but its in the software running on your system, unless you pull the fuse it will be always on.
You have ABS switch ? Or you talkign about ABS Off when you engage locker?

Here is what the book says.
Trailer Sway Control (vehicles with towing hitch and 7 pin

    connector)

Helps the driver to control trailer sway by selectively applying brake

pressure for individual wheels and reducing engine torque when trailer

    sway is detected.

Trailer Sway Control is part of the VSC system and will not operate if

VSC is turned off or experiences a malfunction.

VSC is ESC but not all ESC is VSC, just like all thumbs are fingers but not all fingers are thumbs. :)

    Anyways

OP , as I said before , have the dealership do the VSC zero point calibration shown in the pdf file contained in the first post of this thread

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/showthread.php?p=691254#post691254

    Hopefully that works

If not , do the Landphil method ABS bypass mod I posted a link to earlier

    Best of luck

Can you post a link where Toyota states that up to a 3" lift is acceptable as far as warranty issues are concerned

That would be some valuable information for the forum

    I'll wait here

My experiences have been 100% along the lines of what Oz has stated.

OP - will look forward to seeing what Toyota responds and says.

Recently you contacted Toyota. Below is a summary of your contact message and our response.

Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.

SubjectVSC Discussion Thread Response Via Email (Jay Spencer)08/29/2013 12:56 PMMr. Schumacher,

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

We appreciate the opportunity to address your inquiry regarding the operation of the vehicle stability control system (VSC) on your 2013 Tacoma.

When VSC is turned off, it is off. The VSC system helps prevent the vehicle from slipping sideways as a result of strong front wheel skid or strong rear wheel skid during cornering.

If we can be of further assistance, please utilize the following link to find a variety of avenues to contact our offices, http://www.toyota.com/support/contact.html.

    Notice, OFF IS OFF!

For those who claim that theirs is still on but sensitive when turned off take it too the dealer and have it fixed as it is dangerous. Again OFF is OFF!

Sheez. That was a typical 'help desk' type of answer from Toyota. It is an interesting topic, OP.
