Your experience is good to hear. Mostly what I've heard is in 2WD where the problem exists. And your truck is a 2009, which differs significantly from the 2012+ years in terms of the ECU and how it "manipulates" the drive systems and the nannies.

And yours is lifted pretty significantly which can also cause some abnormalities in how the ECU manipulates the system. It will be snowing here pretty soon unfortunately, so I'll try to make some tests on my truck and see what happens.

Almost everything I have to say will get me banned, so all I have to say savedone is believe what you wish, reality and experience trumps everything! OZ, along with multiple others have stated that their real world experience has proved that VSC comes back on when truck is slid sideways. How simple is that? Yet you refuse to believe real world testimony, continue to argue a point in which you have zero experience. Then when asked about your belief that Toyota allows 3" lift without warranty issues, which would be awesome if we all could find that in writing, you base your response on hearsay, "the dealer told me". F'in ridiculous!

What, I thought you were an engineer? You're saying that real world experiments aren't fact? Then what is a fact? Only things you believe?

    Definition by Wikipedia:
A fact (derived from the Latin factum, see below) is something that has really occurred or is actually the case. The usual test for a statement of fact is verifiability, that is whether it can be proven to correspond to experience. Standard reference works are often used to check facts. Scientific facts are verified by repeatable experiments.

Anyone can prove that VSC goes on after turned off by a simple real world experiment.

    Definition of Experience:
Experience comprises knowledge of or skill of some thing or some event gained through involvement in or exposure to that thing or event.[1] The history of the word experience aligns it closely with the concept of experiment. For example, the word experience could be used in a statement like: "I have experience in fishing".
The concept of experience generally refers to know-how or procedural knowledge, rather than propositional knowledge: on-the-job training rather than book-learning. Philosophers dub knowledge based on experience "empirical knowledge" or "a posteriori knowledge".
The interrogation of experience has a long tradition in continental philosophy. Experience plays an important role in the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard. The German term Erfahrung, often translated into English as "experience", has a slightly different implication, connoting the coherency of life's experiences.
A person with considerable experience in a specific field can gain a reputation as an expert.

    Definition of experiment
An experiment is an orderly procedure carried out with the goal of verifying, refuting, or establishing the validity of a hypothesis. Experiments provide insight into cause-and-effect by demonstrating what outcome occurs when a particular factor is manipulated. Experiments vary greatly in their goal and scale, but always rely on repeatable procedure and logical analysis of the results. A child may carry out basic experiments to understand the nature of gravity, while teams of scientists may take years of systematic investigation to advance the understanding of a phenomenon. Experiments can vary from personal and informal (e.g. tasting a range of chocolates to find a favorite), to highly controlled (e.g. tests requiring complex apparatus overseen by many scientists that hope to discover information about subatomic particles). Uses of experiments vary considerably between the natural and social sciences.

So, what you're saying is that VSC stays off?
If thats your experience, please share, you definitely have tons of real world experience. Some might even call you an expert. If you had started arguing with OZ about it, I would have listened to your examples.

But you didn't, and neither did OP, he just kept saying TOYOTA says so.

So who would you listen to? A man who has experienced this in real world, or someone with no actual experience, reading basically TOYOTA's propaganda.

Where would your truck be if you only believed what TOYOTA said? Would TOYOTA approve of twin stick transfer case and taco crawl box? Doubt it.:)

I figure I'll do some tests this winter. No telling how it will turn out. DoorDing has mentioned there's a yaw factor that comes into play, as well as maybe an RPM factor in different drive modes. The only way to find out is a controlled experiment rather than anecdotal, "Hey, I was doing donuts and it kicked in".

If you had it disengaged , and were doing donuts and it kicked on , that wouldn't suggest it still lurks in the background ?

I've never tested it either. I just don't believe TOYOTA's propaganda, not in that they are trying to deceive, just that whoever writes the manuals isn't completely informed, they write what they are told. I do believe, however, that yours or mine or OZ' experience carries more weight than the TOYOTA manuals.

Some people do believe everything they read, I believe everything I've experienced, along with the experiences of others that have done something in the real world.

Awesome video by the way, I hope there was another way out than the way you went down that hill.
