Hey everyone my name is Scott and on Instagram and YouTube I go by VehicleSupportedTravel or VST. I thought I’d share my build so far and plans for the future.
I’d really love it would you guys could give me a follow and subscribe as I’m trying to grow my channel and Instagram page id really appreciate it!

So starting with the truck I have a blazin blue pearl 2018 access cab trd off road. I was specifically looking for this truck in this configuration so I could get the 6’ bed with out a longer wheel base. It’s pretty much a base trd it doesn’t have blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, or the premium electronics package which I was ok with. It does have the radar cruise control which I really like. The truck I bought used with 6500 miles on it in October of 2020 which is low miles for the year. It did have an ARE CX series topper on it when I bought it that I was excited to have.B63DE77F-87F1-471D-B470-809FAE0DDFF9.jpg

So starting with the build to start camping in the truck I bought a bed rug and built a sleeping platform in the back. This was the first phase of being able to camp or overland in the truck.

This setup was nice for stealth camping and not adding a lot of weight up high by adding a roof top tent. It was dry and kept me warm.

Next I moved on to wanting to increase ground clearance and get some decent tires for all kind of terrain. I ended going with some raceline wheels 905 gauge in a 17x8.5 with a 0 offset. I really like these and don’t see them often on a Tacoma. While I wanted to stay with a 16” wheel the tires I was eyeing only came in a 17”. So for tires I went with the KENDA Klever RT in a 33x10.5. I went with this size because after much research I found this tire size width with a 0 offset wheel didn’t give me hardly any rub on the street but did give me some off road on the stock suspension.

After the wheels and tires and doing some trails I realized I need a suspension upgrade. After a lot of research and just wanting to keep it simple I do more slower type trails I decided on going with Falcon suspension because of there quality and price point. The kit came with everything I need to give me a small lift but a better ride on and off road. I went with there rear extender shocks with adjusters and they have been great. Also I went with an Icon 3 leaf add a leaf that has helped out also. Overall the suspension netted me about an inch and half of lift that I was happy with. I didn’t need new upper control arms or diff drop and this amount of lift completely got rid of any tire rub on or off road.

After this stage I added some odd and ends I blacked out my badges added some diode dynamic amber fogs and used the truck.

I’ve been more into the simple type builds for functionality that’s why I’ve enjoyed this one so much. But now I have kinda stepped up my camping and overland game by picking up a Four wheel camper and I’ve been so excited. To deal with the extra weight of the camper I’ve added Firestone ride air bags and has greatly helped. So now I will be busy building out my camper since it’s a shell model and enjoying it. So here’s some photos of the camper. I’ll keep this thread updated as I

I have made a few changes and thought it would update here. First was I added a backwoods adventure mods bumper with a smitty built X20 winch. And second I swapped my front Falcon shocks for a set of the dobinson IMR with there 354 coils. I also added at the same time a set of Ironman 4x4 UCA’s and I love how the front end came out. The rear I’m still using the Falcons since they have the adjusters. The fronts were just to stiff for me that’s why switched and the Dobinsons ride amazing
