Bought my total tails used here and they function great, no hyper flash. I guess only time will tell if the bulbs are of a less quality... But how will I know?

The hyperflash problem is in reverse. If you don’t ever parallel park then you wouldn’t know if you have it.

The quality is not terrible but it’s obvious once they are compared. My biggest pet peeves were the brake bulbs being too bright on low mode and not much better on bright mode, and the second issue was how the switchbacks blink in slight delay vs the mirror signals.

But really the way you know one is better is one is the original designer, the other made their own version based off the original for the sake of cost reduction….they’re fine, but for anyone buying from now on, it makes sense to go the new route. Especially just for the sake of availability of spare parts.

I got a pretty long list of emails this morning saying a bunch of kits have shipped out. That means the reds are in stock and we’re good to go. The sale on these ends Friday, so anyone on the fence just a heads up. Thanks again for the support!

Any hyperflash issues with the VLED kit and the factory LED headlights?

@kmorgan3 How significant is the difference between the Stage 2 and the "Extreme" upgrade? Is it worth the extra $60?

Not the OP but the tritons are a pretty noticeable different in output compared to the red 50's as far as parking / brake go and a bit brighter reverse for the switchback

I run the red 50's in my Tacoma and run the tritons in my Tundra.

Nope, not an issue for me either. Even when in reverse with the hazard flashing.

The reverse (white) lights in the stage 1 kit are not much brighter than the OEM bulb. If thats what you're looking for might be worth the upgraded kit.

Hazard won’t hyperflash in reverse, turn signal will unless resistors are used.

Hey there — there’s a pretty significant difference between V6 and V6 Extreme. They’re borderline too bright, but that’s my opinion. I don’t think there’s a brighter drop-in bulb on the market from an objective standpoint. If you’re already looking at a V6 kit (which itself is a large step up in brightness from the standard kit) then you may as well go for the extreme

I’m just interested in messing around with the tail light layout and replacing incandescents for actual LED’s. My brother had the Meso Stage 1 kit on his Tacoma and it was honestly excessive both in light output and badassness.

This Meso/VLED layout should’ve been done from day 1. Toyota dropped the ball by not giving us the complete horseshoe every time we step on the brake.

Okay, I'll have to go with the extremes the next time they're on sale. I thought it still being Friday the sale was going to be going on till I got home but I guess it ended already. Figures my luck lmao.

It isn't as good as the sitewide 15%, but you can still use the "Toyota10" discount code for 10% off. I too missed the chance, was hoping it would continue until next week, so that I can purchase it on my following credit card billing cycle

The stage 1s are incredibly bright. Brighter than almost every other car on the road.

I got mine earlier this month. Worth every penny. Stage 1 is pretty damn bright, can’t imagine stage 2

These kits are back in stock now and are shipping out the door quickly. Backorders should be complete, I believe. Here's a quick video showing the comparison between the standard VTAILS and the stock lights:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq0Ttir_Nn4

The V6 extreme version functions the same, it's just brighter than the standard shown in the video.
