Turned my '10 Jetta in yesterday, got the chase email this afternoon. Money is already showing in my account as of 2 hours ago.

Good riddance. It was a fun car, and very impressive when it ran, but my 94 toyota was the real MVP. Had it before the jetta, and still is out in my driveway ready to go. Couldn't have owned a VW without it.

They are making killer deals: My Father is selling back his 2014 TDI Passat (Mid-level). He won't have the $ until Jan. They gave him a new 2017 Passat, top-of the line, no payments until he gets the buy-back $. He will only lay out a few $k for the trade-up. Like me, he liked the car a-lot, but the offer was just too good to refuse.

I have had fewer problems with my TDI's (owned 5 of them) than my 2 Tacomas. Toyota quality is the true fairy tale.

Cheap car. That's why. Plastic undercarriage breaks in a dirt parking lot. Trunk seals coming apart. Smart options that were unchangeable and not so smart. It felt cheap to drive. ETC, ETC, ETC. Only plus was the mileage and emissions.

    ONE
    major concern. Smartcar, my a$$!
If I put it in park when parking, the doors unlock automatically. All doors. 3 different dealers couldn't fix it.
Drive away, it locks automatically. I can see that as ok.

No idea at the time of how long I would have to wait, if there was a settlement.
I really decided to get rid of it a few weeks before the news of the scandal. I said I'm done with this car."Timing is everything."
At the time, between the news and the time i sold it, there wasn't a clear plan. I refused the goodwill. (Now I regret that). But, I don't regret getting the new Outback. A great car. Our 6th between us. Impulse, maybe, I like Subarus, but not too sorry I didn't get the whole compensation. I get half of the comp, and a good chunk of change at that.

Last week we finally found the Tacoma, at the Subaru dealer, Yeah Buddy!! I have a 95 T100, 280K+, too.

Last night I got notice of the approval, and now waiting for the money.

    I said I regret that.

    Road side assistance + 500 + 500 in VW parts isn't $1000.

I used the "vw parts card" to pay for a majority of the tires I put on my taco. It was certainly 1k for me.

Lindsay VW in Stering, VA gave customers an extra $100 if you spent it all there. So, I got 5 new top of the line Continental Extreme Contacts tires, alignment, Flushed brakes and clutch, AF, oil change, fuel filter and 4 spots of paint-less dent removal. Kind of a bummer I sold it back with those tires having 90%+ of their tread left but one way to look at it was they were free. VW didn't really have to do that. (I tried to sell them, but couldn't find a shop willing to do so...)

I just turned my 2011 JSW 130k Friday night and brought my new 17 DC OW home yesterday. Had a 04 DC and decided to go back to a Taco. So far so good. I'm putting together my wish list of mods for the new ride. Also curious to see how long it will take Chase to wire those funds.

Yeah, I also gave mine back with close to new tires and a full tank of fuel.

Painful, but I was too paranoid to drive it for the past year. That, and stripping it down seemed petulant, at best.

So Volkswagen took possession of my car 10 days ago and has yet to pay off the loan, and I have gotten nothing but BS and lies from the call center thinking about reporting the car stolen anyone have a similar issue or any advice?

Mine is scheduled to go back to the dealer on Jan 22, 2017. It was the earliest available option. I've got over 140k miles on a 2011 so I'm not getting anything back but just the outstanding loan paid off. I have a cracked DPF and several of the electrical problems that have plagued the VW's as well as the HVAC going out recently. I'll echo what someone else said, it was a fun car, but I'll be glad to see it go. I am hopefully going to get a new Taco - I'm trying to decide if I want to get it now and let the Jetta sit or go ahead and wait until the beginning of Feb 2017. I probably want a double cab, 4x4, V6. I've always had company trucks, usually either a F150/250 or silverado and the one thing I figured out with the Jetta is that I'm not a low to the ground car guy. Most of my travel is me and the family on regular roads but we own 22 acres and every once in a while I need 4x4 and do want to be able to throw wet stuff in the back end.
