I have that paperwork but I didn't see anything other than the part where they say payment will be received within 3 banking days
When I turned it in they didn't have any paperwork to give me

So took my wife's TDI in for buyback on Saturday. Everything went fine, except the figure they gave us upon turning it over was $275 less than the figure on the agreed contract/agreement. Of course the buyback representative had no idea why... They just plug in the numbers.

It would be one thing if we had driven the vehicle over the allotted 1,000+ miles they give you every month, and the mileage had changed significantly between the time we submitted the paperwork and the time of the actual buyback... But the car has literally sat in the garage for the last six months. The only additional miles, were those driven to the dealership to sell it back, about 4 miles.

Long story short, I called the claims #, as the representative suggested (by the way, I was told by her the quickest way to get ahold of someone, is to choose option #1, then wait on hold, ignoring all other options), and the agent on the phone agreed with me that she could see no reason whatsoever for a $ discrepancy and I was well within any mileage changes... In fact, she said this was the first case she had seen like this, and would forward the issue on to a supervisor immediately and we should receive a call back within 3 days.

In the meantime, we get the direct deposit email today (1 business day) fill it out, and should have the funds, less the missing $275, deposited within the next 2 business days.... Will have to see what becomes of the missing money. Hopefully they can just deposit the difference once this gets sorted. Not trying to be a money grubbing a hole over $275, but it was definitely worth a phone call to find out what the hell is going on and more importantly why.

Watch this whole thing blow up in my face, they have to cancel the current deposit because it's for the wrong amount, more paperwork, in the mean time they are probably compacting the car... Ha! I can see it now. Will follow up when I know more.

Turned in my '13 Jetta Sportwagon on December 2nd and walked 100 yards to the Toyota dealership and drove away in this. My payment from Chase showed up about 48 hours later. Too easy...

I've completed all of the paperwork within a day or two of receiving it, My very earliest date I could find at any local dealer is the end of January. How are you guys getting them turned in so soon? I have a '13 Jetta TDI. I don't get any money back but I would love to get out of it before the next payment is due.

I bought it CPO and have 140k miles on it... Any settlement money I have is going to what they say it's worth which is supposed to be the day before the scandal etc, but it's still favored for the dealer I think. So I guess technically I'm just getting out from being underwater on it.

So you owe more on the loan than the value of your buyback plus restitution?

Yes according to VW- My car is only valued at $9,000 now even though I bought it for $25,000 just 2 years ago. I think the car should still be worth more than they say but since there isn't a chance to sell it to anyone else I'm stuck with their offer. Yea, I have 140k but the engine should have been good for 500k or more and the car is pristine otherwise but the value isn't determined by the quality of it at all. My last car was a Saturn so I've not been a good judge of vehicles. I'm hoping to go get a Tacoma sometime between tomorrow and early Feb. Just looking for the right deal. Going to buy a new one this time and hopefully be able to run it into the ground over the next few decades.

Received my "we've reviewed your documents, now we will determine your eligibility" email. Kind of funny. Assumed that's what the documents were being reviewed for...to determine eligibility. Oh well. Waiting continues. In the meantime I think I've narrowed down my decision for what I want.

Did they offer you a lube at least? Mine is a 2010 and bought it a couple months before the scandal. They're giving me back what I paid and 5k so basically got to use a car for free and they paid me handsomely for it

Nope, just dry. LOL. Yea, most everyone I've talked to has a similar deal, I've tried to call a couple of times to find out why mine is so backwards compared to others but no one has any answers and there doesn't seem to be a way to escalate to anyone who actually knows anything.

No, I bought it for $25k with 10k on the odometer, and I've driven it 130k. I thought a 38mpg was so you could drive a lot :anonymous: Yea, I got screwed when I bought it but I didn't know any better at the time. I'm just ready to get out of it and hopefully do better this next time around. I want to get a DCSB 4WD. I know I want those things, I haven't really figured out the details yet, I've had lots of company vehicles so I've always been more of an operator not an owner. I had what I was given and didn't have any choices in the options- now that I have a choice, I don't know what I want and don't.

Yea, that's average for me most years... Um... I drive a lot o_O The new Taco will have similar miles added, that's why I'm looking for something that will be reliable- I don't spend much time in the driveway.

I got the Chase email last night. Made the transfer, expect money in 1-2 days.

They aren't like Toyota, they don't hold value.

you drive 65 thousand miles a year, and you are getting a truck?? Dude, that doesn't seem logical in my thinking. Thats a shit ton of miles, and just the gas savings alone will be a freaking vehicle payment (well maybe), but I would consider something that is going to get better than the fantasy 20 mpg that the tacos may get.

Dude you need a cheap, disposable car. Chevy sonic, Hyundai, yaris etc.

VW should be giving you the September 2015 fair market value of your vw plus restitution minus mileage. Anything over 1000 miles per month since September 2015 subtracts value. That's what's killing you I guess
