VW took my car on Dec 9 and they have yet to pay off my loan so being that it's the 31 payment due date I just made a payment on a car I haven't had possession of for over 3 weeks

And overpayment on the loan will be refunded to you from whoever your loan is thru not VW, Unless it's thru VW then my condolences

I bought my 2015 MGM DCSB Offroad with lockers and factory installed heat seaters on December 22nd and received my VW offer for my 2009 Jetta TDI on December 24th. Made my buyback date for February 6th, earliest appointment. Plan to put some down on the truck payment and buy an A.R.E cap and a Hobie Kayak with the money. Oh my initial trade date was Nov 1st

Are you my great lost aunt's, uncle's cousin? And are you sure a grand will be enough to cover the processing fees?

I know how you feel. My documents were approved Oct. 28 as I had everything filled out as it was available. Got the "offer within 10 business days" bullshit, which eventually disappeared after a month. Many phone calls, was told it was audited and sent back to VW on Nov.15th and should receive offer anytime. Just got offer package Friday and sent it back around 8:30am. I only have one dealer in the are, all others are at least 75 miles away. Shit is pissing me off, I will NEVER own another VW product and I've been pretty fond of my Audi's, but they are going, too.

I have had my Taco for a while but figured I'd chime in for those that took the money and kept the car since it was almost 8 grand. They still haven't got an EPA fix yet so those of us that kept the car for other things, like mods to the truck or simply buying a 2017, don't hold your breath. I'm approved, signed, and everything, took about 3 weeks for them to go from the reviewing stage to accepted stage after the notarization and scan in of docs.

Honestly, as much of a goat fuck as this has been, and I'm not talking about the whole emissions issue, I couldn't give a damn about how much my wife's TDI spews emissions. They should be offering full reimbursement for their screw ups, and in a timely manner. They sit on paperwork, don't get a solution for the fix, and then proceed to tell us that took the fix and cash that we won't get our money until the fix is done. Furthermore, they go so far as to say, 2/3 of the money will be paid for the first of two visits for the 2015 Passat and then the final 1/3 for the second time it has to come in for a fix. I mean what the hell kind of crap is that? To keep people from taking the money and not getting it fixed? It's their vehicle, must have been a US government thing getting involved or they just want a reason to not pay out.

They should be paying out folks regardless. If its a government thing then fine, scan the VIN, if it hasn't been into the shop to get the fix if you took cash, then no registration/inspection renewal, simple as that. They would rather have a goat rope session instead of getting customers on their way.

Oh, I should add. I made a car payment Dec. 24th and the "loan balance" on my offer reflected the payment. So, they have obviously been sitting on the paperwork for almost 2 months and just contacted my loan company sometime after Tuesday last week.

They are paying folks out, but the folks they're paying aren't the consumers. That would be the Federal EPA and the California EPA.

First and foremost...this TDI buyback has been a nightmare for me. The customer service of the TDI Claims section has been deplorable.

My TDI was lease. I started this process the first day you could start. I am still waiting for my settlement.

When I started the process I was under the "Lease-Termination" section. This was in October. My Lease ended December 13th.....The Claims process was so slow in approving all my documents that my lease ended before they could get through the process on their end. Each time the process changed and called for another document on my end, I immediately uploaded the document. Hoping to make it move as fast as possible. They simply took too long. There snails-pace screwed me over...on Dec 20th when they approved my lease termination. I had got rid of the car...I bought my 3rd gen that day.

Dealing with customer service at this spot in the process was a disaster. Their customer service section is understaffed and ill prepared to help with anything. It took 2 weeks just to get someone competent enough to understand I no longer had the car in my possession so scheduling an appointment to meet with a TDI specialist to complete the final inspection was IMPOSSIBLE...SINCE THE CAR IS NOT MINE ANYMORE. Just to add...my friends and I almost died laughing when I had it on speakerphone for the foreign customer service person telling me that even though I no longer had the car I still had to schedule a vehicle inspection in order to complete my claim....that was just one of the funny answers of many. Another good one was for me to go to the dealership and ask for the claim check to which I was laughed out the GMs office lol. Complete and utter incompetence by VW claims section is an understatement.

So what now?....I had to start the whole process again. Resubmit all documentation as a "Former Lessee" (SP?) Still waiting for my payment.....

So I actually liked my Passat. It did its job very well, and I have enjoyed it. It was never my '03 Jetta TDI, but I'm not sure anything ever will be again. But their offer was just too good to not take for me. However, after this f'in process, I'm pretty sure I'll never own anything from the Volkswagen Group again. Including any of their brands. I could live with the lie, I get some of the reasons it happened. But dicking around with this has just been ridiculous. So, after having plenty of time to stew about how annoyed I was that I had to resubmit because they wouldn't allow a simple change to reflect the title (screwed up by their dealer), then the wait after all the documents were submitted, and then the dog and pony with the notary. I now get to stew by waiting until the end of February to sell it back. And I'm sure that I'll be super delightful because I'll have to drive 75 miles each way to just to get it done then and not wait until mid March to do it locally. But at least I've got an appointment now, right?

Yeah I wish I was as far along as you.

My docs were approved 11/16 and I'm still waiting for my final offer.

I hate everything VW at this point
