And in true VW fashion, my docs were approved 11/18. A guy at my wife's work was approved a week after me and got his final papers/appointment last week. I thought maybe because he was a Jetta, but who the hell knows what they are doing.

waiting to select my day to give the 14 TDI sportwagen jetta until i get my truck. waiting for it to get built. have the offer notarized and everything was accepted. getting 30k back. paid 31k for the car. Yes an thankyou, i'll take it. after paying off the rest of the loan i'll have 15k. put some down on that taco and throw some in the bank.
i really like the TDI, but super excited for the truck. only thing i hated that kept me going back to VW was a month ago wife was driving the TDI and it died on her on a busy road by LAX airport. just shut off. ended up being that the fuel filter was shot. VW said happens all the time when i brought it in. i was so pissed. who casually tells me "happens all the time" with the TDIs. if that is the case why didn't they have a recall? fix the damn filter. was 100% going to just get into the new alltrack wagon. that day i decided to look elsewhere. excited for the quicksand taco im waiting for.

Here's an update and another great TDI settlement/ vw claims story.

Finally get my claim approved and finalized and they forget to send me the email regarding the wire transfer instructions within the 3 day window. According to the deplorable customer service they must now open up a case ticket regarding their own mistake.....

This process has been going on since October for me and shows no signs of ending. VW should be ashamed of themselves. Like mentioned above the whole claim process is a joke. They mess up and you suffer 2 months longer. There should be additional restitution given for the longer amount of time we have had to wait.

On a side note, I've got 20 days to spend the rest of my VW dealer card. Any suggestions? You all find anything great to use it on? Nothing from the Driver's gear side seems to be jumping out at me.

I bought the rook rack crossbars. $300. Will be selling them now. Just buy something you can sell easily. Or buy a bunch of vw toys and give them to needy kids?

    Good deal!

Does your sport wagon have the panorama roof and nav?

How many miles are on it?

By "finalized", do you mean you went to your appointment and already turned the car in? I'm confused by your statement since I have never received anything asking about direct deposit info? I've sent in my "final offer packet" and still waiting on review. At this point, I think it'll be summer before I get an appointment if it goes as everything else has.

They took so long to complete my lease cancellation that my lease term ended! What a nightmare!

I then had to go though hell with the customer service staff to change my claim to a former leasee claim. It was like asking a kindergartner to perform brain surgery via phone worst customer service experience ever.

Claim is done they now forgot to send me an email to setup money transfer....and here I was thinking asking them to send me a check would be slower. This is so frustrating.

Gonna do another update for anyone interested. Submitted my notarized paperwork today. Hopefully will hear back soon. Having a hell of a time finding a worthy truck..most of them have spent their lives around here and I suspect the frames might be a bit crusty. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed I'll stumble across a gem.

Side note, did anyone go with the paper check option? I wanted to submit this stuff ASAP and I didn't have the means of sending in a voided check for the electronic transfer at the time. Just wanted to know how timely they are with payment. Pretty painless so far otherwise.

I opted for paper check. They had the check ready when I dropped off the car. No issues or whatever. Went straight to my bank and deposited.

Sold back my 2012 Golf TDI after only one year of owning it! Had a Taco before and bought a Taco after! :)

    Account created: 7/29/16
    Buyback option chosen: 8/24/16
    Documents submitted: 9/30/16
    Documents marked complete: 10/27/16
    Offer received: 12/6/16
    Signed offer letter returned: 12/7/16
Offer letter accepted, appointed scheduled: 12/8/16
Buyback completed: 12/30/16 (final amount differed from offer letter and appointment reminder due to mileage I believe - thankfully I did EFT)
    EFT email received: 1/2/17
    EFT payment received: 1/3/17
Loan payoff complete: still not complete as of 1/12/17... a little alarming.

New Tacoma purchased 12/22/16 once I had a confirmed buyback apt for the week after! 2017 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4. Happy to get back into a Tacoma. I had a 2012 DLCB TRD Sport 4x4 prior to the VW fiasco.

Good to know.. thanks! Pretty annoying since that means I'll likely make at least two payments after the buyback amount was calculated, extra interest occurs, and the overpayment check from the bank will take another few weeks I'm assuming...

eesh that sucks, sorry to hear that. sounds like that's what i'm in for.. Buyback process took months and then when you think you're done, they still find a way to screw you over!
