I bought a Magnaflow cat back for the Taco! Drop shipped to my house for exactly $500. You don't have to buy something VW, you just have to spend the money through a VW dealership. If you want the name/number of the parts guy I used. PM me. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier.

Bought my Tacoma 12-22. Received buyback offer 12-24 in the morning and notarized it that night and submitted same time. Was able to pick buyback date on 12-27 and the first available was last night, 1-6.

Last night took longer to drive the 6 miles to the dealer then it did to sign the 2 papers. Now to wait the maximum 3 days for the email so I can get my money. Im sure it will take all 3 days. Hopefully my CU is faster then this whole process is.

How did this turn out? Thinking of using our VW card for this as well, but didn't know how the tent might work for a tacoma with camper shell. I imagine if for an suv it would work just as well.

I haven't used it on the truck yet and only set it up to test the fit on her RAV4 and it fit well. Little loose since I bought the one for a bigger SUV so I'm sure it will work great on Tacoma. Can't wait for warmer weather to use it. Don't forget they sell tires as well so if you need new tires you could put the money towards that.

We sold back a 12 vw jetta. Had our check the day we turned it in. I figure it cost us about 6000. to drive the car for 3 years. Screw vw I've owned my last one.

I should have my money cleared thru the funds transfer either tomorrow or Friday. It cost me around 9k to drive the car for 7 years. I will never buy another VW as well.

Hope they enjoy the used diapers I left in the spare tire compartment. I am surprised the government didn't make them pour that "engine destroy juice" that they used during the Cash for Clunkers thing. Goes to show the USA Government knows they will sell them out of country

Turned my Jetta in on Friday, took less than 5 minutes. The lady didn't even start the car, just snapped a few pics. Received the EFT email from Chase this morning. It says "funds should be available in 1-2 business days." Picked up the truck on Friday, could not be happier with this entire process. No matter the frustration in process, it is a win all around. Thank you VW.

Buyback date is fast approaching. Haven't decided on a replacement yet..

Actually planning on looking at some 2015 4Runners locally. Rental place sells them frequently for decent prices. Little leery about them being rentals but maybe I'm paranoid. Also plan on looking at a duramax...because brodozer :p

Either way, my indecisiveness has gotten the best of me. Having a hard time getting over how small the Tacoma interiors are..part of why I'm looking elsewhere. Also the purchase prices for tacomas is a little ridiculous IMO. $25k for a 2012 with 80k miles? o_O Not that a duramax is any better price wise. Anyway, glad to see most people are having a smooth buyback process.

Just updated. Completed my buyback on 2/10. Money in my account Tuesday 2/14 and loan paid off 2/24. Done and done! Very easy and great process. Very happy with the Tacoma, do not miss the Jetta one bit, even with gas mileage!

Well, TDI was bought back today. Bittersweet feeling. Process was fairly painless. Went over my mileage so dealer had to make some extra phone calls but smooth process nonetheless. Gonna miss that car.

Didn't end up with a Toyota but I did buy myself an 06 Chevy Duramax. Very happy with it so far. I thank everyone here for their help and knowledge. May still linger as my dad owns a 1st gen taco that needs some work. Take care guys! :hattip:

So back to beating this dead horse
has anyone herd anything about the Bosch settlement that anyone who files a claim also gets a check from Bosch. From what I've read we all get a $350 check from Bosch too some time after May11th
    I guess the 3.0 TDI is $1500

We got the letter today from Bosch. Taking the '12 Golf TDi in Tuesday to sell back. Bought new for $27k, has 60k miles now and VW is buying back for $20.5k. Haven't decided on a new Tacoma or Tundra yet.

I got the bosch settlement letter too. I was kinda hesitant thinking its a scam. I guess we don't have to do anything and just wait for the check? another $$$ going to the Taco :)

You will have to fill out something online when they finalize the settlement, only if you didn't fill a claim with VW yet https://www.boschvwsettlement.com/en
