Took 3 months after VW bought mine just to get my settlement payment, so I'm not holding my breath on the Bosch check.

But like stated above I think they only recently approved that one. Idk how that stuff works though. :notsure:

Just curious when you did the initial buyback. I am pleasantly surprised someone got the Bosch already

I just now saw this thread.

I sold back my 2014 Passat SEL TDI in April to buy my Tacoma. Hated the thought of going from 40+ MPG to ~20 MPG, but here in the People's Republik of Kalifornia, the state had already passed legislation mandating that all affected TDI owners MUST have the neutering "fix" done once available, which would have killed both the fuel economy and horsepower of the vehicles, so I decided to make the jump before I had so many miles on the VW that I wouldn't get much money for the buyback.

Oh, forgot to also add, that during the three years I owned the car, the turbo grenaded twice and wiped out half the components under the hood. I wasn't about to trust that car after that kind of bad track record in such a short time.

Absolutely loving my Tacoma so far :D

Sold back my 2011 sportwagen TDI and bought a 17 DCLB and my wife a 10 Camry. Financed the taco and paid cash for the Camry with what I got back.

Loved my TDI but couldn't pass on the deal. I had a 2015 Golf and my by back was the same as my purchase price (excluding taxes). I also put 50k miles on it in 2 years.

Sad to see my MPGs plummet but loving the new Tacoma.

Picked up my new Limited 4x4 this morning and dropped it off to get wheels, tires, level kit and tint and will be turning in my 11 Jetta TDI Saturday

Just purchased a 2017 TRD Sport DC as a replacement for my 14 Jetta TDI. Really did love that car but couldn't pass up on them paying me more than its worth.

Sold back my 2009 TDI wagon with ~168k and got a new 2017 4x4 Sport. Couldn't be happier. That TDI was nothing but trouble
    • Doors would randomly neither lock or unlock
    • High pressure fuel pump failure at 85k, destroyed all components touching fuel lines, thankfully VW covered it out of warranty because it was fairly common and becoming an issue for them -- $5500 est
    • Air conditioning went out around 105k, est cost to repair $1600, even here in Houston I said nope
    • Water leaked somehow into spare tire well, rust everywhere
    • Sunroof shade jammed, refused to close
    • Both rear seat belts wouldn't retract (thankfully my kids were still car seated)
    • Fuel door occasionally wouldn't open
    • A few weeks before turning selling it back to VW the exhaust/filter regen system failed -- $7000 estimated to fix
VW gave me $13,300 for it, was no way in hell I wasn't taking that offer. Got another $350 from Bosch later on.
