I think come spring/summer time I am going to go with Method MR701 wheels with 34” tires. This picture of them on a FJ really makes me like them a lot.

 

I am running 34s on my truck, I like them a lot! They will look great on your gx!

 

Finally got everything finished. It sure does take a lot longer working on a vehicle when you have to spend time with a 20month old as well. Still have to get it aligned but I did set the toe using a tape measure. The toe was way off after the lift.

 

Time to send it!

 

Just got the oem axles with “40k” miles on them. One is leaking, the other has a dented outer dust cap, and they just look rough like they were left outside for a long time. Not impressed.

I went with CVJ when I had my Tacoma’s cv’s rebuilt. Wanted OEM axles to replace the aftermarket ones the previous owner had put on.

 

The maf connector decided to destroy itself, plastic was super brittle and broke when I unclipped it. Looked at all of the auto parts stores for a replacement. Almost ordered a $60 replacement from car quest which would have been the wrong part anyways. Decided to give the Toyota dealership a call and they were able to order just the connector for me. The connector from the dealership was only $13! Was able to get the wires out of the old connector and into the new connector in about 5 mins.

 

Decided to go with toughpro floor mats. Overall I am happy with the way they fit.

 

Was going to order some metaltech bolt on sliders but the more I looked into them the more I hated the way they bolted on.

Going to order a set of 4xinnovations weld on sliders.

Here are some pictures of what the metaltech sliders look like bolted on. Looks like way too much stuff sticking out on the bottom for my taste.

Couldn’t take the rattling speakers anymore so I ordered a simply speakers rebuild kit. Wasn’t hard to do, as you can see there was no foam left. Letting them cure overnight before I reinstall them.

 

Speakers still sound terrible, rattle less but still terrible. Time to look into new speakers.

 

Installed rad rubber design engine splash guards. Stock ones were toast.

 

New wheels, just waiting for the lug nuts to arrive so I can get the tires swapped over and installed. Method MR701 17x8.5 0 offset.

 

True overlander now.
