I really like the AEV rear bumper on the 4-door Wrangler. Those are great bumpers.

I think you meant to type 3.4. Its a great motor. My first Tacoma(1999) had a 3.4 and had over 400,000 miles!

Thanks meng! Im going to agree with you about the 1st gen dcab's being the best. And they re getting harder to find. Im going to check out your build.

Needs moar bumpa soon now! Except it too damn hot to be putting a bumper on...Aint nobody got time fo that.

Installed a cb today. Just need to get it tuned.

This stuff I got from Amazon (Prime).
    Cobra 19DX IV $42.00
Firestick II 4 feet Tunable Tip - Black $20.16
    18' RG-58/U Coaxial Cable With Pl-259 Connectors $9.90
Firestik SS-3H Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Antenna Spring $10.99

    This stuff from RadioShack.
Right angle adapter for PL-259 $5.99
CB antenna mount for PL-259 $8.99
    Flex tubing 1/2" diameter 10' $5.99

I ran the power wire from the cb right to POS terminal on the battery using an insulated ring terminal. I grounded the cb to a screw under the driver side. I ran the coax cable down the driver side and out a cab plug behind the rear seat. I followed the path used by the brake light wires.

All in all, Im super happy how the install came out. I think the best place for the 1st gens for a cb is the ashtray. Well since I have never used the ashtray and it would NEVER stay closed.

I just need to get it tuned now and im good to go.

I used this 90 elbow for behind the cb. This way I could tuck it back as far as possible.

    Stud connector

With the coax run/tucked properly, here is how far 18' of the coax got me. Right where I need to be.

Antenna mount. I may change this if I order a BAMF tailgate bracket

    All installed

You're making me want to hurry up and get mine installed! I could have installed everything except for the mount and antenna today this weekend... Haha still waiting on those two parts.

It took me about 2.5 hrs but I took plenty of breaks. I think here in Jersey it's 100% humidity and about 98°
But the install was straight forward. I would wait till you have all your parts. Makes sense that way

Very nice Woody. Thats exactly the same way I done mine but put the bracket up front. Im running dual antennas though with a PRO 520 XL uniden. Nice job though. I guess u were quite happy to have the right amount of coax.
