I’ve searched the forum for a previous post no luck …My 96 Tacoma 4x4 2.7 L I recently purchased used with 165k has a clunking in reverse only.I put it on lift and it’s coming from transmission maybe a chipped gear ? No clunks in any fwd gears at any speed only reverse. Gets faster with reverse speed . Has anyone else ran into this I can rebuild it myself. But I was told the reverse gear is actually machined into the shaft ?
