I’m replacing the input shaft bearing on my w59 transmission (grinding noise in 1,2, annd third. Sometimes fifth gear and goes anway when Clutch is in) and noticed a lot of play in the rear countershaft bearing. The bearing sits inside the rear housing so I would assume some play is okay. I’m about to extend this trans job a couple days by ordering a replacement countershaft beating but I’m curious if it’s supposed to have a good amount of play.
    Thanks
