I have no doubt that this has been discussed on here before but I have the classic input bearing wine on my 5 speed. 1st 2nd and 3rd are rather noticeable under a load, but under deceleration it almost goes away. I have heard this is a common issue with these. I drained the oil out of mine a while back and it was yellow with little to nothing on the drain plug.

So, is this actually a problem or is it the nature of some of these transmission? Has anyone pulled there's part and found issues that would cause the noise? Any thoughts or help here is appreciated.

Does it completly stop in 4th? 1st through 3rd and 5th all power is passing through the countershaft, in 4th it is direct drive.
