Hey yall, having a hard time figuring what rebuild kit will work for my w59 4x4 trans. There's a bunch online and they look similar but I'm pretty sure the output shaft is different 2wd and 4wd. Maybe the input shaft bearing is different. I have no idea. Anyone had any experience buying one let me know

It's been a while since you posted this, and I now find myself in the same situation, as you were then, of needing advice on buying a transmission rebuild kit I can trust. As you said, there are a bunch out there on-line, but wonder how I can pick out the one that has the highest quality. Have you gained any advice during your search that you might like to share?

    My Tacoma is 2000 2.4L 2WD with a W59 5-speed manual transmission.
