Can't wait! I'm said I can't hang until the end and see Harts Pass again. The Pasayten wilderness is beautiful. Don't forget to drive up to Slate Peak, it's the highest elevation "road" you can drive to in Washington!
Also missing out on Mazama bread makes me sad. :(

Any idea what radio frequency we're going to be using? CTCSS privacy codes? Wouldn't mind getting them programmed into my radio ahead of time.

I believe same as last year.

Last year most of us used baofengs on the FRS/GMRS channels.

What's the trail rash potential on the WABDR ? I was going to perform a paint correction and ceramic coating on my truck soon, but if I'm going to be picking up some pinstripes I'll just wait until after the run.

Yeah, definitely wait. Coming down into Lake Chelan definitely had some tight overgrowth. I heard the same of section 1 but I have not done it myself.

I'm dipping out at Cashmere so I'll avoid the Chelan overgrowth, but I'll be around for Section 1. Thanks for the info!

308F7A2B-95C3-481C-BC51-DEBD870B57E4.jpg This happened over the weekend. Trans is stuck in 4th gear. Taking it into a shop in the morning to see what can be done. Needless to say I’m pretty bummed unless I get some good news and they can perform a miracle fast.

That sucks. Hope it's an easy fix.

So in other news, the state is on fire again. I hope this doesn't threaten our drive. HWY20 is already closed right next to Mazama.

So lucky. It was a miss aligned detent. The inside of the trans looks good. Fluke deal they’ve never see it happen before in a Tacoma. Easy fix, the shop didn’t want to charge me. I dropped off 3 cases of beer and a 5th of Crown and picked it up this afternoon. It’s home and I have tomorrow off work so it should be back on the road again before the sun goes down tomorrow. WABDR or bust:rofl:

That’s what I’m worried about also. Should we come up with a back up plan?

That’s smoke not fire. The Hearts pass bonus run might be a no go. From Goat Cr to lost river RD is on a level 2 evacuation notice. The wind comes down the pass and they are worried it might jump Hwy 20. My truck is all put back together again and shifting like butter.

The route goes right near the Wenatchee fire, and we're still two weeks out. With how dry it is, plenty of time for things to get worse. :(

That Red Apple fire is a problem. I working on finding a fire map layer to overlay on my Gaia app.

We'll just have to keep an eye on it. Last news article I read said they were making "significant progress" against it.
