WA 2021 Summer BDR Run (7/31-8/5) - The Details

Alright, I'm in. @stonylaroux Still down for Section 1? It would be just you and me right? Want to meet somewhere and caravan down to the start point? I'm located in Kenmore.

Reroute from Niles to Ellensburg appears to be less than 1.5hrs, so I'll just get over myself.

 

Well boys, looks like I'm out also. My schedule at work is changing since we have no one to work so the only day I have available is Sunday.

 

Right on! Are you still going until 8/3? I'm in Seattle so anywhere along I-5 would work for me. Google maps is saying it's about a 3.5-4 hour drive to Carson. What time would you want to meet up/start?

If we still want to shoot for a noon start in Carson, how about 8AM at SeaTac City Hall?

Do you happen to have any recovery gear? I have proper recovery points front and back now, and some Tred Pro traction boards, but I haven't gotten around yet to buying kinetic ropes and shackles. I think it would be prudent to have at least one set.

 

I've got a winch, kinetic rope, recovery straps, a few shackles, and traction boards. I think we'll be covered.

Meeting place sounds good to me!

 

You guys mind if I post up about this on Avants Off-Road, see if anyone from that group would want to join us last minute? I know it's not likely since Avantsfest is occurring Sunday, but you never know.

 

Unless you wreck you won’t need it. A spare and an air compressor should be all you need. Maybe a chain saw incase a tree falls over the road.

Well… my rear diff let go on Saturday so maybe the silver lining is we aren’t at some parts yard on the east side dumpster diving for a diff to get me home. I guess I have the good kind of bad luck.

Well we wondered. A few guys went. Most of us bailed. I’m waiting on my RSI cap. Being held hostage at the Portland terminal. F%##k YRC.

 

You have no idea how much I hate those lazy fuckers. Your probably still 3 weeks out, no joke. My bumper sat there for a couple weeks then Seattle for a few days and in Bellingham one week.

 

Been there since 7/23. Changed delivery 3 times on me. Mike @mike’s custom toys has kept me in the loop. Good guy.

 

You know it’s getting close when the back date the delivery 3 weeks.

 

If I ever had to hide a body I would crate it up and ship it to the Florida Keys with YRC.

 

Yeah, @stonylaroux and I went. I managed to find 2 guys on the WABDR 4x4 group that we joined up with. I dipped out a little earlier at Wenatchee due to needing to get home, not sure how much farther they went. @colin1qk joined us briefly at Bethel Ridge, but decided to head to the Nevada BDR to avoid the wildfire smoke. I'm shooting to have a picture album up in the next week.

For now, a glamour shot somewhere north of Table Mountain, above Ellensburg.

 

Did you guys get out of there before the lighting storms this week?

 

Yeah. Looks like we made it down NF1500 only a day or two before they closed it because of the Schneider Springs fire.
