Went ahead and threw new plugs in my trd sport today. Come to find the plugs that we in it were meant for some kind of Mercedes Benz! Needless to say it runs a whole lot better now.
The risk of buying a used truck!

that's what i've learned working at the dealership. nothing but the factory plug in a toyota. everything else makes them run like crap.

No, even a ford focus will. But yeah, you might see some improvements there, just maybe.

Why would somebody do that? Even if they are stupid, not even that is a good reason. If they are smart enough to use a socket wrench then they should be smart enough to use the right plug. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Wait a minute. Are those threads the same pitch? I'm counting 11threads on the plug on the right, and 13 over the same distance on the left??? Not sure. What a coincidence if they are same threads.

But if they aren't the same pitch then the wrong one could never have been installed.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
The term we are looking for is REACH...The plugs that were installed had too short a reach, and plugs with the same tread and head range can be offered in different reaches...

I willing to think that the Mercedes wouldn't start if it had Toyota plugs. Just demonstrates how robust Toyota motors are.

It's not about the length, it's about the width - and those are NOT 6 inches! ;)

I couldn't agree more. Most people get rid of things(whatever they are) when they become troublesome.

Anyone who just bought a '15 would say that.
Personally at this point I don't feel like investing 30k+ into a new truck.image-6_578b3ebe31c0270e9e87d6aa0db68c60f61ea8c2.jpg
Maybe a little buyers remorse for those '15 owners seeing that the new Tacoma is about to be released?

    Nope.

I wouldn't dream of buying a "first year" edition of any vehicle. Having a close-out 2nd Gen works just Jim-Dandy for me.
