Hey- looking at a quick midweek daytrip to do Section 3 of the WABDR from Ellensburg to Wenatchee or thru to Cashmere. I have searched here and the WABDR pages but have seen nothing new on road conditions or fire concerns or closures for this section. We are not looking to camp, we just want an easy day of trail riding.
Does anyone have any suggestions or current trail info?

    Thanks!

We did section 3-6 a little over a month ago and it was fantastic.

Did section 4 a few weeks ago and it was also perfect.

Not sure on current conditions, but some thoughts for you.

Not sure about trail conditions specifically, but last i heard there was an active fire near lake diablo so maybe a bit smokey up there towards the north.

Just a quick follow-up. We went up I90 from Seattle in light rain/drizzle that cleared up at Snoqualmie pass which was a good thing since I was in a 1st gen 4Runner with a bikini top (on the truck - not me lol! ) Since this is TacomaWorld I should add that we brought Tacoma as well.
We did the first part of Section 3 of the WABDR from Ellensburg to Wenatchee and the trail conditions were clear and dry with a couple mud puddles, that were just that, puddles not mud holes. 95 percent of the day could have been easily done in a (gasp!) Subaru but the washout and a log filled gully would make the Subie driver a bit nervous. We went very slowly to avoid jostling our passengers and spent a good part of the day just off idle in low range. Including multiple scenery stops and a long trailside picnic lunch we spent about 9 hours on the trail. Awesome day but a bit long with a 2.5 hour drive there and a 2 hour drive home in an open vehicle.

I would take that miserable long drive over any day at work:rofl:
