Add another $~900 to your TRD as that price does not include destination. Knowing Toyota, you're going to pay pretty close to sticker and don't expect much anything in terms of incentives. Great for resale, sucks for initial purchase. So let's call your purchase price $34,000 before taxes, etc.

    2015 XLT, SuperCrew, 2.7L, 4x4.
301A, XLT Sport, Trailer Tow Package
    MSRP - $45,580 (with Destination). $4,500 in incentives (30066 zip) plus $6,000 dealer discount + $699 doc fee = $35,779.

If I upgrade to 302A, then it becomes $46,280 (with Destination). $4,500 in incentives plus $6,000 dealer discount + $699 doc fee = $36,479.

My FIL just bought a nicely optioned 2015 Lariat (Ruby Red Paint, 3.5L Ecoboost, SuperCrew, Heated/Cooled Seats, Tailgate step, 4x4, Nav, Moonroof). Sticker was over $55k and we paid $42,800 + taxes etc.

If you can't get $10k off sticker, you're not trying.

While the MSPR's are far apart, purchase price is pretty close.

F150's always have heavy discounts if you go in informed. If your work buys trucks see if their OPs guys can pull some sheets for you.

Ford, Chevy, GMC, Dodge. They are all that way around here. You can get $10k off sticker with a little effort. Those trucks are the cashflow for those brands.

Also Ford is trying to regain lost sales for when their suppliers were messing with their output. That and GM has been gaining on Ford in overall sales. Now GM sells more full sized pickups than Ford. Many more overall pickups if you factor in the mid size twins.
Also, doesn't seem GM's mid-size trucks are eating into full size. Their Sierra/Silverado sales are up this year from last even with the twins in the market.

Do they no longer have Ford, Jeep, Dodge, or Chevy forums? I dont get why people post about their new vehicles here, a Tacoma forum, and then get offended when people dont give a shit. I traded in my ATV last year for a motorcycle, I dont post pictures of my motorcycle on the ATV forum and compare it... seriously, just fuck off and move on.

Yea I was doing bus next to a Ford dealer and decided to walk the F150 row and every 4x4 SCrew I saw was in the 50K range (Lariats/FX4/Plats etc). I was like Whoa! But I know you can get huge discounts especially for the next few months on 2015's. The 3.5 ECB would be nice. Just too big for me now. Maybe later cause I have no plans to part ways with my Tacoma. I payed 30k for it 4.5 years ago and could get around 24-25K now. Cant do that with any other truck. I bet a new ranger is coming in a year or two and if they put the 2.7 ECB in that. Look out!

I remember buying my first new truck too. I spent months thinking about it and went to the Toyota dealer convinced I wanted a new Tacoma. I walked away upset at how much they wanted for them. I let my brother and father talk me into a new Ranger instead because it was quite a bit cheaper. I spent months rationalizing the decision to buy the cheaper Ranger. Then I spent the next 7 years hating the truck because of all the little things that kept going wrong with it. Brakes constantly grabbing unequally, wearing out in 15k miles (no I don't ride with my left foot on the pedal, but thanks for asking), starter(s) going out, AC compressor going out, water pump going out, clutch dropping, etc. All within the first 110,000. And for every item that should have been covered under the warranty, the Ford mechanics first tried to tell me that it was something I was doing wrong as a justification for not wanting to cover it under the warranty.

Finally, I had enough and decided to go to a Toyota dealer to look at a new truck. Driving down the highway at 75 mph, (not shifting or accelerating), and the transmission craps the bed. On the way the Toyota dealer. It was like the truck knew it was headed for the glue factory and decided to give me one more giant "F you!" before I could trade it in. The truck I bought that day, back in 1999 is the Tacoma I am driving today, and it has 199000 miles on it and I have not had to replace a transmission, clutch, starter, alternator, compressor, water pump, or pretty much anything else. I have had 3 unplanned maintenance issues in 16 years of ownership and none of them disabled the truck.

So enjoy your new F150 while it is new, and make sure you post again in a few years once the warranty stops paying for all those little things that are starting to go wrong with it. And be sure to come back and post when you trade it in and buy a new Toyota. Trust me, that is a great feeling!

Sounds silly but the main reason I want in another Tacoma is that my 2002 with 155,000 miles on it has been nothing but loyal to me. Replaced the timing chain and have done regular maintenance. Paint still sparkles after it has been washed and my Taco has never been garaged. To me QDR is my # 1 factor. If I were rich and got a new truck every few years I would consider one of the big three but I plan to keep my next truck a decade +.

We get it, you've never drove a Ford and have 12 year old style stickers like that all over your truck :D.

Ford has come a long way in over a decade and Toyota has fallen a long way. Just FYI. A Toyota badge doesn't guarantee quality like it used to in the 70's-late 90's.

Anyways, why not let the OP enjoy his new truck in peace rather than tell him how stupid he was to go for a cheaper Ford than the unknown 2016 Tacoma? It's not like the new Tacoma has proven anything either reliability wise.

I wish I was the salesman you were dealing with! The OP must be LHAS at the firestorm he created.

They put it on the lot for the 34,999 bud. Best of luck thinking your truck is worth 25g's, who in there right mind would pay 25g's for a 5yr old truck with 100k, what bank would even finance that!!

We just sold some of our old work trucks here, 2009 F150's in the same cab length as OP, for 14K with 130K miles on them to a private buyer. All trucks now a days get pretty good resale. Toyota definitely gets the best but it's only a few percent difference now between them and a Ford or GM.

Congratulations on the new truck! I had an Ecoboost F150 rental last year after my prior Tacoma was totaled. While nice, it was a different class of truck. It also helped validate my decision to get a 2015 DCLB. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

2015 F150s are now being discounted $12k to almost $14k in DFW if anyone wants to join the OP on the dark side.

I would never pay MSRP for any vehicle. Back in 1980 I really wanted a Ranger but needed a truck and they were not yet avbailable. I wanted a Tacoma but when I called a dealer to inquire about pricing on some I saw on his lot he told me $600 over MSRP. Now maybe face to face they would have backed off but I never found out.

I feel that if you didn't get $8-10K off on a Silverado or F150, you got ripped off. And at that price, I will assume that the Big 3 are still making money on the sale. So, I would surmise that these trucks are just greatly overpriced to begin with at MSRP. I could be wrong; they could be selling at a loss, right?

you are not wrong the U.S. manufacturers have a different philosophy when it comes to MSRP. They like to make people think they are getting this great deal when they discount $10k. I think the only time a dealer will sell at a loss is on the last day of the month when they need 1 or 2 more sales to make bonus. The finance guy claimed this was the case on my current one but I trust finance guys even less than a salesman.
