    Hi all,

I ordered my TRD Off road Access cab four months ago in Texas. My dealer hasn't been able to provide price or ETA, citing Takata airbag as one cause of the delay. Any suggestions?

Tacoma is not affected by airbag deal. Find another dealer. What specs are you looking for?

Do you need to know, or care?
Toyota makes them in batches. Maybe the batch you want to take one from isn't in production yet. Your dealer can tell you the schedules. Airbag theory is crap. If they are right, is Toyota turning out ZERO vehicles at the moment?? Ask them that.

The quicksand with black interior may be the hold up. I searched in northern Louisiana and the only quicksand trucks right now have the grey interior.

I would only bother waiting if you have agreed upon a price. I hope you didn't put money down without agreeing to a price.

Personally, I would call at least three (minimum) other dealers you are willing to travel to and get a quote and rough ETA from them as well.

I have been waiting since late August for my 7545 (which just showed up) - folks are right that Toyota only builds certain combos at certain times, and the dealers really can't effect it. That said, the airbag reasoning is complete BS.

Recommendation: call around, including out of your region and be willing to purchase a cheap one-way ticket to acquire a truck at the best price from a place even a couple states away and drive it back. Don't accept a price above the TrueCar "average" on the TrueCar bell curve diagram. Only a hard day's drive from you - I got a really good price with no BS from Village Pointe Toyota in Omaha NE, (ask for Rusty or Corinna, tell them Jon from NV referred you if you like).

Curious who youre dealing with. Sounds like RR toyota. They used to be great. This year I ordered a DCSB OR 4x4 from those fools and decided to do likewise from AN south one week apart. AN was awesome. They received in one month incorrect, got another in like two weeks. RR still couldnt even tell me what stage mine was in, no price. Absolutely nothing. I am very familiar with the business as i worked in it when i was younger in several capacities. Also dont believe you cant do much better than true car. you can pay much less if you know how to operate. In short, folks are right, find a new dealer. Good luck.

Which dealer in Austin? We only had to wait 5 weeks, have had it about two weeks now. Lol now I say only 5, but during the wait I was getting impatient. But 4 months is absurd. Also don't understand why they can't give you a price--have they never sold a Tacoma before? Something ain't adding up here.

I can't imagine why that would take so long. I ordered a 7566.....DCLB Sport 4x4 with tech package, apparently very rare combo in Gulf States region (I'm in the Dallas area). Now that purple unicorn took 5mos! I picked it up in the middle of September and it's been great so far!

I haven't paid a deposit at all and my dealer is very responsive. These replies are pretty reassuring, I'll reach out to another dealer as a backup.

    LOL! Damn I hate dealers.

Wait till that dealer has to deal with any TSBs that might pop up on your truck. Based on that Takata comment, they may be uneducated and unmotivated to resolve any issues to your satisfaction post sale.

Run. Don't walk to another dealer.
