Waiting on BPF, but might go RCI

I ordered a BPF steel front skid plate two months ago and I'm still waiting on it. I've been stewing on the idea of changing over to a raw aluminum skid for my blacked out truck. I like the idea of being lighter weight, but still functional, especially considering I'm more of a trail guy than a crawler, and the aluminum would give a nice little contrast. If I decide to go with RCI, I'll sell the BPF when it comes in new and unmounted. What are your opinions about both fabricators, and do you think the aluminum would suffice for what I need? I don't want to deal with rusting, but BPF said they would not cancel my order three hours after I made it so I'm stuck. Thanks for your help.
